oK - At first glance, the new Hornet was criticized for its striking resemblance to other models(see contact), a fact that detracted from its visual identity. But this Honda is the kind of motorcycle that becomes (visually) tame over time, taking on more and more charm with each passing glance. First sacked, then charming, tomorrow conquering?
a few kilometers with her is like a mouth-watering aperitif with a serious wiggle in the spine. Once you get the wheels turning, you realize that Honda hasn't messed up its copy at all, and even better. The Hornet has become much more efficient and rigorous. Thanks to whom? The new chassis, with its aluminum frame replacing the previous steel model, and its suspensions, finally adjusted just right. The '07 Hornet loses a little in terms of comfort, as the suspensions have been made firmer, but the attack has gained several notches on the efficiency scale. Compared to its predecessor, the new-generation Hornet clearly stands out for its evolution. At the same speed, one goes by relaxed and the other by clenching its teeth a little - guess which one?
Efficient and easy to handle, the bike can take you by surprise when attacking corners. The weight loss (- 5 kgs) and the much livelier drivetrain boost agility. A true jet bike.
finally suspended as it should be, the Hornet 2007 also owes a great deal to its boiler. Smaller, well positioned in the completely new weight-centering scheme (that of the CBR 2007; no question of using a 10-year-old mill), this block is a credit to the 600 class. Of course, we're not going to ask it to rip its arms off at low revs. You have to wait until the 6,000rpm zone for it to wake up properly... and then, it sends, it grinds, it climbs in the revs with a celerity superior to the old 4-cylinder. Hurrah for modernity: flexible fuel injection, lively lightened parts... and a more polished character; carburetors aren't great for pollution, but they did give the engine a boost. All in all, this new engine doesn't make you miss the old one. In fact, it would give the blocks of the FZ6, GSR and others a run for their money.
better everywhere, that's everywhere. More comfortable on board, it doesn't take long for the rider to feel at ease and appreciate the overall ergonomics. The feet of an average-sized person will have no difficulty in touching the ground. A serious braking system rounds off the excellent work done on this new version of the Hornet. Enough to make you want to stay for hours? Certainly, provided you've got a well-padded bottom, as the saddle doesn't help the rigor of the suspension.
in the great battle of mid-size street-fighters, the Hornet no longer lags behind, and can now clearly claim to regain its crown, which it was one of the first to wear. Even the Z 750, with its extra 150 cm3, doesn't scare it. But the battle's not over yet: the biggest threat could well come from England, with its fearsome Triumph 675 Street Triple.

Uncompromising reliability, a real pleasure
Wotan. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Wotan
I've never had a bad surprise with this one, it holds the road very well with good tires of course, fitted with Michelin Power RS.
Whether solo or duo, its behavior is very pleasant, in duo increasing the spring preload of course and a tooth less on the BV output sprocket does it good.
As for the engine, on my 1st ride (in 2014), it was quite "racy" (1st bike), but with time, of course, you get used to it.
It's fitted with a bagster comfort saddle, devil silencer, KN air filter, -1 tooth on the gearbox output sprocket and a few other cosmetic accessories. Rating : 4/5 Respond to Mumu
Its only fault is a slight lack of torque at low revs, typical of the engine derived from the Cbr 600... V Rating : 5/5 Respond to MK
I'm taking the liberty of replying to you, because I see that the message you left is not very recent.
I will soon be passing the gateway and would like to change my Honda cbf600s for a Hornet. are you still satisfied with it, how much does this Hornet consume?
I recognize myself in your text, I'm 1.72m tall and in my fifties.

It was a 2007 model (blue) that I found by chance in 2011 second-hand with only 2200km and at a very reasonable price. Admittedly, there were a few details that were a bit shocking, such as the rear end (corrected on the next version) and especially the horrible side plenum of the exhaust system. After a few hundred kilometers, I found the engine too quiet for my taste, like an electric motor, so I replaced it with a Leovince line, which not only provided a pleasant sound, but also saved weight and gave a much better aesthetic. The Hornet is a lightweight motorcycle with excellent roadholding, safe braking even without ABS, and very comfortable for a passenger with its two-seater seat and handgrips.
As for the engine, it's a pure delight, especially with a line that I've optimized with a BMC air filter and a power commander box.
The only minor complaints are that the original transmission is a little too short, and the fuel injection is a little temperamental at low revs (around 2000 rpm), giving the impression of remaining accelerated even with the handle closed.
With 110hp at the crankshaft (measured on the dyno) thanks to these accessories, we can really take advantage of the engine's character, which even though derived from that of the CBR, remains usable down low, and of course is very expansive at the top, without suffocating when entering the red zone.
As there's no protection, you have to flatten yourself out on the tank to get to 240+ on the 6 speedometer to avoid feeling like your head's going to be blown off by the wind, and you don't stay there for long.
It's a pity that Honda stopped producing the Hornet after 2014, because it was really a very successful and versatile machine.
The CBF650 is more the heir to the eponymous 600 than to the Hornet, and there's no longer a mid-size sports roadster from Honda, while the competition in this category is very strong. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Jeff2A
My first bike and no regrets ;-) Rating : 5/5 Respond to Ln62
- injection needs fine-tuning at low revs, and the torque in this range is rather average compared with its direct rivals.
As for the rest, it's impeccable, but beginners should be careful, as it becomes uncontrollable from 8,000 rpm.

It's easy to get used to, even if it does have a certain character. After the few hours I spent on the ER6N Kawa at school, I was a little surprised.
In short, it's got a good feel.
Easy to handle, not heavy at all, reliable, not expensive to maintain.
Good braking, nothing furious but very correct braking, a little light on the track.
It doesn't trap, so you can get into it without getting scared.
Comfort-wise, it's not a tourer, but it's more comfortable than a Z750 or a sportbike.
It's not a bike comparable to a sportbike, but as I said, it's great for getting used to and enjoying yourself.

i would like to know how much it would cost me to restrict my 2007 hornet r to 34 hp, and especially how I could put it back to 106 hp myself. Is this possible?

At first glance, the Hornet didn't immediately appeal to me, due to a horrible grand prix pot and an under-engine cigar that spoiled the bike's finish
But fully equipped, the Hornet looks great! A hoof to hide the gas chamber, a wheel lick, wheel arch, Leo Vince pot and immediately the bike takes on a whole new look
So I fell for the Hornet CBF600F in blue, much to my delight!
The insurance is also very expensive at 3000€ but I found an insurer for those interested in Solly Azar who offers 1487€ for a one-year contract with a 4-month suspension, including winter
Bonne continuation Rating : 5/5 Respond to Rossi
Anyway, I'm quite glad you don't like it, at least I won't have to buy everyone else's bike... ;-)

And then! Hahn is top-notch! sick roadholding, an engine that offers us more possibilities. It starts to give after 4000 rpm, leaving the red zone at 13000... sure, it's no longer the hornet we liked so much aesthetically, but it's a pure delight in terms of engine and chassis... decided! I'll buy it as soon as I get used to the idea of selling my 2005! V Rating : 5/5 Respond to hornetgirl
I had the 06 model and I've just bought the 07, it's true that the look is a bit hesitant, let's let the equipment manufacturers work and we'll see, I've put a Vince pot, it's already changing the look a bit. I've just finished breaking it in, and I'd like to think that the engine and chassis are up to the task, but like everything else, you either like it or you don't. Give it a try, you'll be amazed
A+

In the end, it's not from the photos... One wonders where the typical hornet line has gone, with its gape, hornet-like size and aggressive styling. What I got was a bike that looks more like a road bike for leeks, with a wide ass and big CBF600-style grips, a tank designed to do lots of kilometers while riding quietly, and then that fork head ... i think that's been said enough
Oh yes, they did try to make an effort with the pot, but to no avail. It makes the bike even heavier
For me, a hornet isn't like that. A hornet should stink of dirt and petrol, it's a virile bike that just wants to make the red zone scream, a bike for young people who want to have fun
Who cares if the new model pollutes less and has more range? That's not what you're supposed to be looking for when you ride this bike
Anyway, I haven't tried it yet, so maybe the mill turns well. But aesthetically, it's nothing like the aggressive sports bike we once knew. Rating : 5/5 Respond to semoule

maybe it'll raise the argus price of the current model a bit, considering what a flop it's going to be. I've got a buddy who's been waiting for this to happen before going to Kawa. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Gizmo
Firstly, the 2007 model's engine is environmentally friendly (euro 3), and fuel consumption should be down
Secondly, the 2007 lodèle has a real fuel tank (19 liters), because mine (16 liters) is just about right when you're out on the road
And thirdly, the 2007 model can be fitted with abs as an option for those who want it
On the other hand, it's a pity there isn't a model with a fork head like on the Fazer or Bandit, which would allow you to ride on the road in greater comfort
Bonne route à tous!

The 2005 model was a bijouxx... (my current bike...) We were even expecting a Hornet 1000 in the same vein, and unluckily, in 2007 we get not a Hornet, but a sort of twisted Mayan bee..
The pot is really ugly, the legendary spiked rear end has disappeared to make way for a bizarre truk, and the ER6 speedometer would have been better off not arriving at Honda..
I think the Hornet will come to an end in 2007 for me... in the end, let's just keep the engine... Rating : 5/5 Respond to Aarbagan

The 2005 was beautiful, sleek and pleasing to the eye, but the 2007 is the opposite
The 2007 flop, isn't it?
As far as the chassis and engine are concerned, there's nothing to say
But the ugly pot, the ugly headlight, the horrible speedometer and the massacred rear end..
That's a lot for a new model, I think the Hornet is no more..
By the way, it's probably posthumous that Honda took these official photos in the dark, so as not to shock Hornet lovers too much..
It's either in total darkness or at the bottom of a toilet where this 2007 belongs
I'm done, I'm flushing..
This is just my opinion, V to all........
