bayliss, Fogarty, Bostrom, Lucchinelli, Roche... All these names are doubly steeped in Ducati history. Not only have these riders proudly defended the manufacturer's colors in Superbike history - they've also been entitled to see their names on a Replica version of their racing machines. Bayliss will even have 2 tributes: a 998 S and a 1098 R.

for a new limited series, Ducat' has chosen an 848 to celebrate American racer Nicky Hayden. It's a selection that may seem a little strange: although a Ducati rider in MotoGP, Hayden doesn't really shine on the Desmosedici. But Nicky was MotoGP World Champion in 2006. Perhaps this is the reason for this tribute, and the fact that the 100 units produced will only be sold in the USA.

with its big star on a blue background, its G.I.-style badges on the forkhead, and Nicky Hayden's signature on the tank, the 848 really stands out, and oozes American chauvinism. It might even bear a passing resemblance to the 996 Bostrom Replica. The 848 Hayden Replica will cost $14,495 in the US, some 500 euros more than a standard 848.
