In more ways than one, the 748 has little to envy its big sister. Born for the track, it benefits from all the acastillage needed to get the most out of the racetrack. It's radical, just like its behavior and life on board. Forget any notion of comfort, it's not made for that. A short ride around town is a real ordeal: the clutch is hard to maneuver, especially as the wrists are already well massacred by the exclusive riding position - high, "slice of bread" seat, handlebars closer to the wheel than to the rider... The twin doesn't really appreciate cruising and low revs. It only brakes. The mirrors are merely decorative. Quick, we've got to get out of here! With the horizon clearer, the needles climb with relief, while the fairing provides some protection. The road begins to turn and the 748 starts to show its face. In the big curves, the chassis is imperial. tighten up! Physical to place, the machine puts a lot of strain on its rider in the small threadlets. The reward is demonic precision and supreme stability. It's a rail.

The boiler doesn't have the power of the 600 supersport, but it's got more boot and a hell of a lot of power when you slam into it. The twin-cylinder is less turbulent than the 916, making for safer operation.DUCATI 748 The sound and vibrations typical of Bologna production enhance the pleasure and sensations offered by riding. A unique, selfish pleasure, the fruit of sacrifice and passion. The gearbox is beyond reproach, and the brakes are in the same league. Enthusiasts are welcome, but not enthusiasts: this beauty has to be earned. Meticulous maintenance, exclusive handling and use, and gags such as the self-retracting side stand (we couldn't think of a better way to put the bike on the ground), or the mudguard that makes it impossible to fit a U-shape. For track fans, the 748 has been available since the 2000s in S and R versions, with more elaborate equipment, lighter parts and more watts. By the way, you'll have to spend 10 grand to buy the R...

It's my favorite of all my bikes, the ones I have and the ones I've had. Stiff as a beam, noisy as can be, especially with the Termignoni and racing clutch. On the road it's a rail and a pleasure, but in town it's hell to ride. D\'ailleurs une Ducati ça se pilote c'est pas conduit dit t\'on, sinon gare aux surprises.
As for all the talk about reliability, that's also part of the legend.
Its faults are also what make us love it.
In short, when you've got it, you've got it.

the motorcycle I dreamed of for 10 years before I was able to buy it! I first bought its little sister, the Cagiva Mito 125cc, and now, for nearly 3 years, the 748 is something else! Powerful for me, it's still as beautiful as ever and has never let me down on the road or in any other way, no mechanical worries, to hear some people tell it, it's the only motorcycle in the world to have problems, I think that like all engines in existence, it needs to be repaired after a good ride, well, for many it comes down to this: you're Italian and you love it because it's magnificent, or you're not and you'll be on your way, ciao! I've had my 1995 748S for a year now, it's got 29,000km and the pleasure it gives me is as much on the road as in the workshop. If, on the other hand, you don't have the courage to get your hands on it, and if you don't have a bank account dedicated to maintenance, don't bother. It's only reliable if you check it before you set off and when you get back from your ride! The engine is super pleasant, racy, a great sound (Termi carbon), and it's easy to angle with a little wiggle. I've always sold my bikes to buy the next one, but this one will stay in my garage for life, a collector's item! Rating : 5/5

i've been riding a '96 748 biposto for 6 months, and I fell in love with this bike when I saw it, and now it's a blast to ride. it's not comfortable to ride, but the lines, the noise and the vibrations give me divine pleasure. Don't neglect maintenance (it's hot!!) and above all have it serviced by a ducate pro (e.g. declic moto in castanet dept 31)

vi vi vi,i had the opportunity to drive this machine a 748 s, cycle part a regal. on the other hand engine a cata that of the problems more a break engine 500 kms after having bought it.(fortunately under guarantee with hardly 15000 kms odometer). it is to say that gentlemen ducati the 748 i confirm reliability it is zero!!! Ducati is as reliable as any other (54000 without major problem) but it is true that it warms up before opening, and that servicing must be done (every 10000)by a Ducati dealer and in the meantime know how to pamper it. Ducati is a passion brand, not a low-cost one. Rating : 5/5

i bought my b'cane just six months ago and never tire of it, having traded it in for my mostro620s. the kick in the butt is there, you have to take good care of it! good heating good maintenance no rear wheels or burns!just the pleasure of owning a ten-year-old, timeless, affordable b'cane with ringing ears and burning ass, not to mention back and wrists, it's worth it! madness when you hold us go v ducatiste to each biker his mount ciao! hi, I'm at 30000 km with a 2000 748S. I find it great to ride, and not at all difficult to put on the corner, just think about it, and it turns. Of course, you'll have to wiggle it if you want to use it properly in all circumstances, and then again, it's a bike to ride, not to drive! As for your back, you need to be sure it's made of concrete, because it's very hard on your kidneys and crushes your balls. The saddle is symbolic, but that's what's good about it! Price-wise, it's cheap, but it's a money-spinner! At 42,000km, the engine's on the floor (connecting rod bearings out of order) and it's clear, now that I've seen what's inside, that it's a magnificent machine! I can't wait to get her back on the road, for me she deserves every sacrifice. You only live once... I hope she doesn't take it away from me

It's an exclusive bike, made for pleasure. I ride it every day, and get a kick out of it every time, especially when it's dry!!!!
