presentation of the CBR 600 F 1999

with a higher level of finish than the previous version, Honda wanted to give more life and smoothness to this latest marvel of versatility...

Indeed, on the steep roads of southern France, we were able to see and try out this new-generation aircraft. On the Var coastline, the swingarm and damping worked wonders, and the whole curve was absorbed without constraint, leaving the old problems (PC 31) in the dustbin.

Weight and power are transferred without inertia, with the throttle constantly asking us to push, and we feel a slight dip below 7000 rpm, which can be annoying when controlling the bike in linear curves. But then again, the 600 CBR F isn't designed to go hunting in Supersport territory, so above 9,000 rpm, it quickly transforms into a beast that's hard to recognize. The engine becomes diabolical, and the rider's position requires rapid re-centering on the front to avoid being subjected to this explosion of power. It's enough to make a lot of radical bikers lose their heads.... In fact, the Honda copes very well with this situation, and even goes as far as the limit of some of its rivals.

To be honest, no one expected this kind of magic from Honda, which is continuing to build on its reputation as the CBR. To fully appreciate this panoply of quality, it's essential to change the tires on the original equipment. For those who subscribe to the touring account, however, a modification of the machine can be carried out in accordance with Honda France's advice......
As far as original equipment is concerned, we're dealing with a truly remarkable machine, whose discreet or explosive side, like Dr Jekyll and Mister Hide, must be kept quiet....

Very good solo bike. Manage the revs well, to tame it perfectly. You can play with the gearbox and brakes, but it's still a 600. Good roadholding, with a little evolution in the chassis. Good value for money. And it's a Honda.... Rating : 4/5

I'm driving a '99 model with 58,000 km
What happiness, 450 km to go to Le Mans and it's very comfortable.
If you want watts, you have to keep the revs above 6500/7000 rpm
Aviation hoses and it's a weapon.

Hello, I have an engine that heats up in the city with 35 degrees of heat outside plus traffic jams Rating : 5/5
French CBR 600 F 2000 Fan
Check the coolant level and the fan operation, because clearly there's a problem. The fan often engages in traffic jams because of the fairing, but it's very efficient and the engine never gets too hot..
It's an incredibly versatile bike, despite its great age, and suits me perfectly.

Happy owner of this pretty CBR 600 F since the end of April, I'm over the moon...
Having started out in 2008 with a YZF 600 R Thundercat, then a 600 shadow, and most recently a Street triple 675 R, I've returned to my love of fairing.
Well, I'm not disappointed! This bike suits me very well: low torque at low revs, so less risk of stalling at the rear when going on the throttle, even more so in wet weather, a loooooong linear extension, light, hyper-handling, and a short pot that makes a nice noise loud enough to be heard by motorists, and a comfortable seat. It has 77,000 km on the clock and runs like a charm. The voltage rectifier, known to fail frequently on this bike, was changed by the previous owner after it broke down. The distri was changed at around the 60,000 km mark, and the previous mechanic told me it was spotless. There's a little rattle I hear when decelerating at around 3000 rpm, but the mechanics I had try it out told me it was nothing. I looked a bit on the net and apparently it's normal on this bike to have a little noise at very low rpm. But I'm not too worried, given Honda's renowned reliability.
In short, for the moment, apart from a little suffering on a 200 km motorway journey when I took it home - clearly long journeys aren't the best, but it's still manageable - I'm happy with it for everyday use on 30 km trips.
And what a face! Even though it's a bike that came out in 1999, I think it's magnificent. Just look at this: a father did a photo shoot of his son hugging my titanium. I'm telling you, she's a charmer!

Excellent bike!!! Light with a very low center of gravity, smooth at low revs, it becomes very impressive from high revs, and playful without being tricky. Easy to place, and incredibly stable. Parts very easy to find, affordable maintenance, puncture-proof engine, only the kms can be tiring in the long run... Rating : 4/5

I owned this bike from 2000 to 2005 and loved it!
Comfortable, super-handling, easy for everyday use, a joy to ride when pushed hard. Apart from a small weakness in the timing chain, no major faults. Of all the bikes I've owned, it remains one of my great favorites!
