presentation of the CBR 1000 RR-R SP Fireblade 30ème Anniversaire 2022
I was still at college when it happened. You could hear Dr Alban all over the place, humming "It's my life", while a rumble was shaking up the sportbike sector. The CBR 900 RR had just arrived and was changing the game. A big mill in a much lighter package than the tenors of the day, the Fireblade put the competition to the sword. It wasn't until the R1 that it was ousted from its throne.
It' s been three decades this year. Honda reminds us of this with this special 30th anniversary CBR 1000 RR-R SP series. The designers drew on their old stock of slides to transfer the colors of 1992 onto this 2022 limited edition. The copy goes so far as to color the passenger seat blue. And what's more, it doesn't even look old-fashioned.
Small details enhance this leap forward in time. 30th Anniversary logos are emblazoned on the tank cover and SmartKey ignition box. The Akrapovic muffler also pays homage. The laser-engraved serial number takes its place on the upper fork crown.
Another reminder of the first Fireblade is the production model. The CBR 1000 RR-R SP 30th Anniversary will be produced in 893 units. Where does this enigmatic number come from? Let's delve into the technical side of things, and remember that it's the displacement of the 900 CBR we're celebrating here. Honda was producing 124 hp at the time.
From the first to the latest generation, things have changed. Both the machine and the riding position have become more radical; power has almost doubled; electronics have gone from the Stone Age to space conquest; the chassis is almost on the level of a Superbike machine; the slim silhouette would pass for a clash of cultures... in the same wind of pursuits that never stop.
The CBR reserves one last wink for its start-up. The TFT dashboard introduces a short "Ring of Fire" sequence. A promise that, after a third of a century, the Fireblade still has the urge to set the rev counter on fire.

Maintenance
If you're driving in first gear and at high revs, the surface of the oil cooler's resin pipe may overheat due to radiant heat from the exhaust. This can cause the resin hose to crack and the engine oil to leak. This may cause a fire, or the oil may adhere to the rear tire, causing the rider to fall.
The fuel injection system may malfunction, causing fuel injection and ignition to stop. The engine may stall while driving, creating a risk of accident. In the case of vehicles with dual-clutch transmissions, a malfunction in the fuel injection program may cause the clutch to disengage, resulting in a loss of power.
