presentation of the CBR 1000 RR-R SP Fireblade 100th TT Start Limited Edition 2022
Honda UK has long been under the spell of John McGuinness. Given the number of Tourist Trophy victories he has won and the high regard in which he is held by the brand, it's easy to see why. The Morecambe native has conquered 12 of his 23 victories with the winged brand.
So what could be more natural than to dedicate a new special series to him? In fact, a CBR 1000 RR-R SP(30th Anniversary Edition) has been specially concocted in his honor, with a decor featuring a host of celebratory scents.
The decoration is based on that used by his racing machine for its 100th start, with a white tablecloth dotted with golden stripes as a backdrop. The rider offered his signature to each CBR, on the airbox cover. An engraved plate on the fork crown also authenticates the exclusivity, with McGuinness's autograph, the TT route and a mention of the rider's number of races.
100 ... Yes, 100! The hypersport is also there to celebrate John's hundred or so participations in Isle of Man events. Film reel-style slideshows are placed all over the bike, with a photo for every race MCGuinness has entered.
Honda has taken the liberty of judiciously installing a few small accessories: carbon mudguards, a seat cover, a high TT-style bubble and Metzeler Racetec RR tires. The original rubbers will be supplied separately.

The CBR 1000 RR-R SP 100th TT Start Limited-Edition will come with a protective cover, a personalized garage mat and a figurine of the bike on a laser-engraved crystal. UK residents will be the only ones served - and only 30 of them. The price is set at 30,000 pounds, or almost 34,000 euros. As an added bonus, John McGuinness himself will be on hand from Honda Racing UK to present these replicas to their owners.
