presentation of the 1190 RC8 R 2010

the KTM RC8 R has been rumoured for some time. The Austrian manufacturer's first , albeit excellent, sports bike was convincing on the road, but no doubt annoyed by the dominance of the Ducati 1098, the Mattighofen-based hypersport manufacturer got angry and produced an R version.

the orange frame is the hallmark of Katoche's edgy models. And the RC8 R is no laughing matter. Its singular design, as aggressive as its Orange mechanics, leaves no doubt as to its nervousness. Thanks to a 2 mm larger cylinder bore, the engine is now 1195 cm3, up from 1148. Engineers took advantage of this to redesign the top end, cooling, and adding horsepower. + 10, that's 170 horsepower out of the twin.
Oh, look, there's jazz in the background. "Yeah, as luck would have it, exactly the same power as the new 1198! ". No kidding... Except that the RC8 R can be completed with a race kit that boosts power to 180 hp. So!!!

with a few kilos less and a reworked chassis, KTM quickly adopts the habits of the big sportsbike manufacturers.a bit of carbon, lighter wheels, improved WP suspension, a reduced wheelbase and caster, this in-depth work enabled the RC8 R to drop to 186 kg (2 less) and revise its riding dynamics upwards. It used to be lively to ride; now it'll squirt from corner to corner. As you'd expect, the bill also gets a few watts. Another way to remember that you're piloting a machine like no other.

i think that the people who test the bikes don't realize that they're not just talking to riding pros
i also think that it pulls so many
of 4000 at the break that must have been impressed
all the same, or else there's something wrong
myself an rc8 and when I drive with my buddies who have
i own a rc8 myself, and when I ride with friends who have high-flying japanese bikes, they're less proud, because when I'm on a country road, the mirrors come in handy lol. let's face it, it's a radical machine with a mouth like hell. at this stage, it's still an exceptional bike for amateurs, no!!!!

Severe for a manufacturer with the comparison of its ultimate 1200 sport version with a Japanese 600 sport. Ktm offers a 180hp performance kit. The 2009 Kawasaki ZX-6R has been optimized for stability, while the Ktm has a balance (agility/stability/comfort) of the highest order, surpassing the Ducati 1198S.
On the open road, with its powerful, distinctive engine and exceptional chassis, its endurance is a real head-turner
