a new letter symbolizes KTM. We're familiar with its very sporty approach with the R; we're about to discover more originality with the T, for Touring. Until now, only theAdventure could claim to be a tourer. Admittedly, its style is more trekking than touring. Perfect for raid enthusiasts, it is less suited to more modest desires. So here's the new 990 SM-T, aka the SuperMoto Touring. A relatively light (less than 200 kg) machine designed for mileage, developed on the basis of the 990 SM. A sort of cross between a trail bike, a roadster and a supermotard, equipped with a protective semi-cowling and powered by a big twin.

well, well...! But that reminds us of something. A hybrid of this kind, with a traveler's bent, it would seem... Yes, we're in the presence of a competitor to the TDM. Except that the factory's temperament should offer us something sportier, in a vein comparable to Ducati's Multistrada and the British Tiger. In fact, as a derivative of the Supermoto, it's easy to imagine that the machine will be able to go from touring to playful, even sporty, riding.

the SM-T is intended to be more accessible, more roadworthy than its siblings. Suspension travel, identical to that of the SMR , has been reduced compared to the SM, from 200 to 160 mm at the front and from 210 to 180 mm at the rear. The seat height, still substantial, has been reduced to 855 mm (- 2 cm).
The engine is of course a big, powerful twin, which has no intention of sleeping on the SM-T. 999 cm3 for 116 hp, with 9.9 mkg of torque. But let's not confuse speed, power and attitude: with its large 19-liter fuel tank, luggage equipment and road tires, the Katoche clearly shows its desire to discover the country. This promising machine is priced close to the SM, at just over 12,000 euros.
