anyone looking for a contender for the Junior World Championship can hardly ignore the 125 SX. Its lap-hungry engine, always good for a sprint, has been given even more performance for the current season. It's impossible to ignore the 125 SX, either on the cross-country track or in the career plan of a future champion, if only because of the completely new frame and the new indirect progressive rear suspension.
new intake manifold
The 125 SX's flow-optimized intake flange, between the airbox and carburetor, now ensures even better engine breathing. As a result, the water-cooled two-stroke revs even better, delivering more power throughout the rev range.
new muffler
The 125 SX's new muffler has not only improved in quality, but its optimized silencer, in conjunction with the exhaust control system, provides an additional, explosive but controllable power boost.
new frame
The 125 SX's completely redesigned frame, made of high-quality chrome-molybdenum steel, is not only extremely light and torsion-resistant. It also boasts a particularly well-balanced geometry that combines childlike manoeuvrability with formidable precision.
new Linkage rear suspension.
From now on, even the two-stroke bikes in KTM's MX range are equipped with the complex linkage rear suspension. Linkage of the shock absorber via a connecting rod system provides great progressiveness and a wide range of adjustment. As a result, the 125 SX is a regular on the podium, even on the most brutal motocross tracks.
new swingarm
The new Linkage rear suspension is combined with a new cast-aluminium swingarm, designed for optimum resistance to lateral torsion and perfectly defined longitudinal flexibility. The 125 SX owes much of its line stability, extraordinary handling and extreme traction to this new swingarm.
new telescopic fork settings
The inverted telescopic fork has been further improved, featuring closed cartridge technology and a slightly firmer setting for even less bottoming. The WP fork, with its 48 mm (1.89 in) tubes, is a major contributor to the 125 SX's extraordinary handling.
bodywork
The 125 SX's bodywork, with its slim seat and spoiler lines and excellent contact points, further perfects its ergonomics, making it even easier and more precise to ride.
