presentation of the 350 EXC-F 2014
the 350 EXC?F is the ultimate enduro bike when it comes to optimum handling and maximum enduro performance. Thanks to its powerful, compact DOHC engine, light weight and perfectly matched chassis, this machine masters all terrain difficulties with sovereign ease. And its playful handling remains a great advantage when conditions get really tough. Whether you're a professional rider or a beginner, you'll enjoy it all the way. Maximum pleasure guaranteed.
bODYWORK
Spoiler, airbox cover, front mudguard, front mask and headlight have been restyled for the 2014 model. The aim was to create a new, more ergonomic and functional fairing, so that every detail of the bike is in perfect harmony with the rider. But other aspects were also taken into account. For example, the designers removed the ribs on the inside of the new front mudguard, to prevent any accumulation of mud. Even so, the new mudguard, with its cleverly chosen shapes and improved fastening system on the lower fork crown, is up to 50% stronger than the previous model.
sADDLE
The saddle incorporates an improved foam core for more resistant padding.
aIR BOX
The new airbox design ensures optimum protection of the air filter from dirt, and maximum airflow for enhanced performance. The new airbox covers are manufactured using a two-component process, with new "Inmould" graphics. The fastening and mounting of the left-hand cover have been further improved to allow even faster replacement of the Twin Air filter, which is better secured thanks to an optimized system. As always with KTM, filter replacement is tool-free. Two additional tabs on the cover also allow it to be secured with screws.
fUEL TANK
The lightweight polyethylene fuel tank incorporates a fuel pump and pressure regulator. The bayonet-type tank lid features an optimized snap-open mechanism for easier, faster opening.
gUIDON
All EXC models are equipped with extremely sturdy Neken tapered handlebars made from solid aluminum alloy. The proven KTM system allows the handlebars to be fixed in a choice of four positions. The 2014 model features new handguards in robust bi-component plastic for more effective hand protection. The new Brembo clutch cover has been adapted to the look of the brake cover.
gRAPHICS
A refined new graphic design with clear lines underlines the uncompromising demands of this modern off-road motorcycle.
wHEELS
Lightweight CNC-machined hubs, top-of-the-range Excel rims and black-coated spokes with lightweight aluminum nipples ensure minimum weight and maximum stability. Maxxis enduro tires have been specially developed for KTM, offering perfect grip and excellent performance.
bRAKES
High-tech brakes from Brembo® have long been standard on KTM off-road bikes, with lightweight Wave disc brakes for optimum braking performance. For the 2014 model year, we've introduced a new brake pod with a new compensation reservoir, a smaller piston diameter and a new lever with optimized kinematics. Thanks to this and sintered brake pads (Toyo B169), front brake performance and dosability have been further significantly improved.
dISTRIBUTION
The crankshaft drives a lateral intermediate shaft, which acts as a balancer shaft and drives the water pump and timing chain for both camshafts. A hydraulic chain tensioner ensures optimum chain tension for extremely precise timing diagrams.
eNGINE
The ultra-modern 350 cm³ four-stroke engine with electronic fuel injection offers a wide range of useful engine speeds, and is distinguished by its dynamic yet effortless driveability. With a maximum power output of over 45 HP, the 350 EXC?F is capable of beating 450s in the E2 class.
oIL CIRCUIT
The 350 EXC?F engine features two oil pumps. A delivery pump ensures reliable lubrication of the connecting rod, piston, balancer shaft and valve train. It also cools the ignition and lubricates the clutch. A vacuum pump draws oil from the crankcase and uses it to lubricate the gearbox. This creates a slight vacuum in the crankcase, further enhancing engine performance.
dDS CLUTCH
The one-piece bell of the optimized DDS clutch (Damped Diaphragm Steel) is milled from high-strength steel together with the timing gear. This process guarantees unrivalled reliability, and the compact, rivet-free design of the clutch housing results in a very slim motor. This design also allows the use of thinner steel plates, which also contribute to the clutch's compact dimensions. The spring washer provides additional hub damping: an invaluable advantage in terms of traction and gearbox wear. An optimized drive dog also enhances the clutch's robustness. Finally, the Brembo hydraulically actuated clutch and spring washer ensure easy, controllable progressiveness.
gEARBOX
The 6-speed gearbox is specially geared for the characteristics of the 350 cm3 and 450 cm3 engines and for all types of enduro use. It excels in terms of precision and ease of shifting.
bALANCE SHAFT
For weight balancing, the 350 EXC?F engine features a balancer shaft on the right-hand side of the engine, which also drives the water pump and timing chain. This solution contributes significantly to the engine's extremely compact design.
eNGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EMS)
Keihin's EMS engine management system with electronic fuel injection and 42 mm butterflies ensures spontaneous responsiveness and maximum engine performance. The Map-Select-Switch available in the PowerPart catalog enables different engine characteristics to be selected via the EMS. In addition, an optional User-Setting-Tool lets you use a laptop to access motorcycle data and modify ignition and fuel injection mapping with just a few clicks.
eNGINE CARTER
The previous model had already switched from sand-cast to die-cast crankcases to reduce wall thickness and save weight. For 2014, the optimized sealing of the new water pump cover guarantees absolute reliability even in the harshest conditions.
eMBIELLAGE
Compared to the 350 SX-F, the 350 EXC-F incorporates a heavier crankcase to increase the masses in motion for smoother power delivery and better grip. Like last season's KTM SX-F models, it features a plain bearing in the lower connecting rod. The old needle bearing is replaced by two pressed bushes directly connected to the crank pin. This design enhances engine durability, thereby extending the service intervals for the connecting rod.
cRANKSHAFT
The DOHC cylinder head features four ultra-light titanium valves (36.3 mm intake, 29.1 mm exhaust) and ultra-small, DLC-coated rocker arms weighing just 8 g, for very high revs up to 12,000 rpm. The camshaft timing diagram is perfectly adapted to the low-speed performance specific to the enduro segment. New valve spring cups from the 2014 model year further increase their resistance in extreme conditions, and a reworked automatic decompressor optimizes starting behavior.
sTART
The engine is equipped as standard with both kick and electric starter ignition. The electric starter is well protected behind the cylinder, and its drive is connected to the ignition rotor via the optimized freewheel.
aLTERNATOR
The engine of the 350 EXC-F is equipped with a 196-watt alternator with integrated freewheel for the starter motor. The alternator provides sufficient power for fuel injection, lighting and other consumers. Compared with the 350 SX?F, the oil-cooled rotor has a larger diameter, which increases the masses in motion and requires a larger ignition housing.

i'm 54 years old and the proud owner of a 350 EX CF 2013.
After having had several KTMs (7th) . This is my second 350 ... The first in 2012 took the place of a 250 (2007).
The first 350 was really a great compromise between my 250 and the 400 I had before (no more piston stroke) and much easier to handle.
The 350 allowed me to do everything (a Morocco raid, a Brazil raid) without ever having had the slightest problem, even with Brazilian fuel, in faraway places 4000 km without a hitch. And of course the good old Breton Sunday rides.....
With the 2013 ... Recently, I've had very few comments on the differences, apart from the impression that, to date, I've been hyper-performant but a little less FUN...
I'll have a look at my multiplications again, and why not ask for a cartographic correction, if possible adapted to my use...
And if a major flaw for me (1.69 m) difficult even with high heels .and how to lower this bike without making it lose performance .....à hear you on it ...
Seat modification
Modify suspension...
Ou autre ...
Happy man in 2012 d\'avoir the chance to ride this kind of bike .... Rating : 4/5 Respond to MG
