presentation of the 790 Adventure R Rally 2020

KTM presents a Rally version of its 790 Adventure, even more exploratory than the R, and ready to take on many adventures. Featuring a special, slightly more warlike paint scheme, it is packed with PowerParts accessories, including an Akrapovic muffler and suspensions better suited to cross-country riding by seasoned amateurs. Where big SUV trail bikes wouldn't dare go, this Adventure Rally already cracks a smile with teeth full of dirt.

it benefits from a WP XPLOR PRO 7548 inverted fork and a WP XPLOR PRO 6746 shock absorber - a damping system that the brand claims is much more efficient, and closer to that of the 450 entered in the Dakar.
The fork features the 'Cone Valve' system, with a tapered stop for improved comfort, highly effective damping and first-rate resistance to bottoming. It also eliminates the need to change valve stacks when adjusting settings.
The rear shock absorber, like the front, benefits from multiple settings, and is highly efficient and responsive. Designed to tackle the toughest trails, the suspension has gained 30 mm of travel, resulting in a seat height of 910 mm. Hot.

KTM 790 Adventure R Rally 2020 the LC8c twin-cylinder remains unchanged, with a more than adequate 95 horsepower under the wheel. The 790 Adventure R Rally boasts more equipment than the R: the Akra pot, which saves around 1 kilo, transparent winglets and bubble, Up&Down shifter, carbon tank protectors, narrower rims surrounded by inner tubes, a flatter Rally seat and footrests more suited to muscular off-road riding.

A fine fighting machine for enthusiasts of the genre, only 500 will be produced. The price is more than substantial, even higher than that of the more seasoned 1290 Super Adventure. In the end, it lives up to its exploratory capabilities.

French Model 2020
As with all touring bikes, the saddlebags are going to spill over because of a pot dedicated to the TT look, a discipline that very few will take up enduro-style. It would have been wiser to add a single-arm and position the pot as low as possible, so as to be able to place panniers worthy of the name very close to the bike. Still, go and change a tube or grease the chain without a center stand, and what's this fashion for a return to inner tubes that we're also seeing on the AF and the new YAM 700ST? I almost forgot the angular saddle, which cuts into your thighs and prevents you from putting your feet down properly, with a measured saddle height of 924mmm...… Otherwise, everything's great apart from the look, which may or may not be to your liking. @paimpogne:

Saddlebags on a Rally model that doesn't even have a luggage rack? And why not a trailer hitch while you're at it?
It's because of bikers like you that 95% of today's models are as sexy as a Korean minivan.
Buy yourself a Gold Wing to lug your wife and all her junk to the first campsite you come to, and let the real thrill-seekers set off on their adventures with... their toothbrushes.
Thanks for your time.
