presentation of the 850 BREVA 2010
born in 750 cm3, gentrified in 1100, it's now available in Guzzi's famous 850 cm3 displacement. Or to be more precise, 877, which is a reduction of the stout 1100 that equips the Italian manufacturer's larger models. The 850 is not the 750 with a bit more displacement... No, no, it's the 1100, with the only differences being a different cubic capacity and redesigned cylinder head covers. Cousin to the 850 Griso presented at the same time, the Breva adopts an engine management system more suited to its touring roadster concept, with slightly less power and torque. ABS is available as an option, as is a wide range of accessories. Initially, the Breva 850 was positioned just under the psychological €10,000 mark, and came up against the BMW R 850 R. Over time, the price has jumped this barrier. In its day, the competing Behemoth may have had a slightly more bourgeois cachet, but it was also more expensive. It's up to you to decide whether you'll be able to resist the charms of Mandello's eagle and side goblets.

230 kg for this 850 is too much! Rating : 5/5 Respond to moto 26
only 700 rpm separate maximum torque from maximum power. Clearly, Guzzi has taken the power where it belongs, in the rev range. But what about driving pleasure? I hope the torque curve starts low, otherwise what's the point of having a twin if you have to work it like a 4, with less flexibility? What about reliability? In 2 or 3 years, I'll buy one (well, the 1100...), or even a Griso, as soon as they're affordable, financially speaking, Cf. the advert on this page. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Eric
Finally, in terms of equipment, the Guzzi is far better off, if only by looking at the dashboard. In terms of riding pleasure, on the other hand, the Ducat's engine must be far more expressive than the Guzz. The 1100 was already characterless, the 850 must break the record for lack of feel I think..
As for getting back to basics, all you have to do is compare displacement, because as for the rest... Rating : 5/5 Respond to Vince
Not only is it a return to the "roots", but, above all, it's a reduction of the big block, and not the even larger 750 (the block was born in 350 cc...)
As a result, we keep the monoblock, the 2-in-1 exhaust, the speedo and on-board computer..
And the Breva is a delight to try before you buy :-) Rating : 5/5 Respond to Mandello
72 hp for such a price is a lot to pay, especially as the aesthetics of this guzzi are far from my dreams. Rating : 5/5 Respond to tom
