Like many manufacturers, Moto-Guzzi didn't confine itself to making motorcycles for the general public. There were models for competition, for show, for glory, and for the authorities. Mandello sold models not only to the Italian services, but also to the Los Angeles Police Department, to O.T.A.N..... and to his country's Cuirassiers Regiment (part of the Carabinieri corps).

The Cuirassiers are the honor guard of the President of the Italian Republic. Guzzi has been with him for 75 years, since the very beginnings of this special section. The latest delivery: two V 85 TTs, enrolled and dressed according to Guzzi protocol.

To celebrate this alliance in 2022, the trail bike is offered in a special Guardia D'Honore series. It's decked out in the same look as the Guardia motorcycles, a black stain with white stripes. With the added bonus of an Italian flag in the middle of the forehead.

The bubble, larger than the original, is quickly noticed. This "enlisted" V85 is better equipped with accessories. In addition to a raised and enlarged windshield, it comes with crash bars to protect the cylinder heads, a center stand and a set of additional headlights. If you're looking for optional luggage, Guzzi has designed specific panniers for this model (on request only).

as a reminder, the V 85 TT is powered by an 853 cm3 twin, now the only engine in the range since the disappearance of the 1400 and the scrapping of the 750. 76 hp are available, as well as 8.4 mkg and a nice layer of electronics. TFT color display, cruise control, traction control, 5 driving modes, ABS, full LED lighting and daytime running lights. Add to this Brembo brakes, adjustable suspension, engine mount, universal joint and a look that combines surprise and success.

Guzzi' s partnership with the Guardia D'Honore dates back to 1946. Precisely the same number of units will be produced for this special edition. It's impossible for the rider to miss this symbolism: the identity and serial number are laser-engraved on the clamp holding the handlebars in the bridges.
As a bonus, owners will receive a folder containing a book tracing the history of Guzzi motorcycles used by the Cuirassiers, as well as a collector's stamp created by the Italian government to celebrate the brand's centenary. That was last year; 100 years since Carlo Guzzi and Giorgio Parodi cracked their first bike - a 499 cm3 single-cylinder.

In a lighter vein, Moto-Guzzi took part in the adventures of Don Camillo as well as Baker & Poncherello in "Chips", and in more than - and in over 500 films and TV series. On a more serious note, some of the company's motorcycles have been used to protect some of the most important figures in the Italian state.
