presentation of the 850 V9 Bobber Centenario 2021
There was a time when Moto-Guzzi was one of the most innovative manufacturers of its time. There were times when the brand almost disappeared... Yet..
100 years after its creation, the Italian eagle still flies over Mandello. The range now comprises just three families, but it is authentic down to the last cylinder. Each family has appointed a representative to celebrate this centenary. Among the V9s, the Bobber bears the Centenario edition crest.
This roadster from Lombardy pays its respects. Its colors are equivocal, but not inspired by the first Guzzi, the "500 Normale". Instead, the V9 Bobber Centenario takes its theme from one of the most famous Guzzi competition bikes: the Otto Cilindri.
This is evidenced by the brown saddle for both protagonists, as well as a tank covered in a matte gray tablecloth. As the V9 has no fairing like its ancestor, the pale green of yesteryear is reproduced on the fairing panels and front mudguard. The latter also features the centenary logo.
This series has three other special features. A golden eagle emblem on the sides of the tank, the brand embroidered on the end of the seat with a flavescent thread, and availability only during 2021. It's a trend; no longer limited by numbers, but by duration.
Although imbued with the symbolism of the 1955 V8, the V9 makes do with a more modest engine. Its 853 cm3 transverse V2 offers the pleasure of an inimitable character, sprinkled by a majority desire to enjoy its torque. The Bobber is also more rebellious and technological than its close cousin, the Roamer.
The Centenario edition costs just a few hundred euros more. Some Italian productions take advantage of this kind of cult status to be much more greedy.
The V9 Bobber is joined at the celebrations by the V 85 TT and the V7 Stone.
