presentation of the F3 RR 800 Ottantesimo 2025
The fork crown is watching you! Its aluminum scratches the light, then its tattoo appears like the value of a clan. These words, this claw, this membership, are the symbols of a tribute that MV-Agusta is praising for 2025. This year, the company turns 80.
For all those (including me) who pronounce MV the way we spell those two letters, the inscription teaches us to spell it correctly, in the Italian way: emmevi!
Underneath, Ottantesimo simply means eightieth, in obvious connection with the brand's anniversary.
And the few numbers? The serial number of this limited edition of 500 F3 RRs.
The sports car from Varese has decided to pursue two objectives this year. SuperSport, with the "Competizione" version; and homage, with this Ottantesimo. With its historic red and grey "Ago" color scheme, it underscores MV's rich history of victories and keeps alive the memory of the first F4. Fine, suave, exciting, taut, the F3 is pure beauty, only ionized by aerodynamic appendages.
To bridge the gap between 1945 and this commemorative model, the MV logo has been redesigned, drawing heavily on the very first emblem. It can be found on the tank and front mudguard. The rear trim prefers to keep the contemporary insignia.
Like the vast majority of F3 800 special editions, the Ottantesimo comes with the traditional dedicated kit including a matching passenger seat cover, CNC-machined fuel filler cap and titanium Akrapovic exhaust. This appendage is far from insignificant: it boosts the 3-cylinder engine from 147 hp to 155 hp, while reducing the bike's weight by 8 kilos.
Slovenian efficiency is undeniable, but before that, the Italian boiler received a few modifications to pass Euro5+ standards, with no impact on torque or maximum power. What's more, a new clutch has been fitted to reduce lever effort by 50%, according to the manufacturer.
More ease of use, without in any way detracting from the sportiness of this tracker. An F3 also comes with Stylema to calm down the speed, adjustable suspension from all sides, electronics at all levels and a superb single-sided arm. An RR is all about fairing panels, spoilers and a carbon front fender.

So, the Ottantesimo collection honors MV-Agusta's 80th anniversary. So it all began in '45, after the war?
No, Count Agusta first set up an aviation factory. Fans of rotary wing aircraft in the second half of the twentieth century quickly associated the name with certain helicopters.
In 1943, the country was in a worrying state. Domenico Agusta, the Count's son, had set up the Meccanica Verghera, and a certain little 98 cm3 engine was ready for production. But the Germans occupy the factory, and it's better to stop and hide everything.
Work resumed in mid-1944, and the company was born in January 1945. A small, inexpensive machine was needed to get the country moving again, as everything had to be rebuilt. This was the MV 98 moped, to which a special Superveloce series paid tribute in 2024. Since then, the little Varese company has made its mark in many ways, right up to the present day.
