presentation of the Superveloce 800 2025
Sometimes all it takes is a simple detail to tip you off. A line under the eyes, a sock, a woupie-truck in the next field, Louboutins instead of sneakers... For the Superveloce"evo", it's the exhaust pipes that will catch your eye. Beveled, sharpened and cutting into the MV's profile, the mufflers are the only visible surface of the modifications to this neo-retro sports car.
The beauty is very recent and didn't really need to be touched up. It's the standards that have led the manufacturer to revise some things and improve others. As a result, chassis, engine and electronics have all been tweaked. Let's find out what's new and what's improved in each area.
This beauty is a real success story, so much so that you forget or even think about its origins. A fashionable soul on an F3 800 body, desirable in every way. The concept had everyone excited when it was presented at EICMA 2018. Its experimental status allowed it to indulge in a few fantasies, such as the deliciously vintage yellow headlight.
On the production model, this piece of sunshine has disappeared. But that's about the only concession the Superveloce has had to make. The essential is there, intact, preserved from the original design to the tip of the cap in the middle of the windscreen. In the early days of this family, only the ORO was entitled to the leather strap running across the tank. This privilege has been democratized: standard, S and Alpine all have it.

If you dig a little deeper, you'll discover that it's got a nice color TFT screen - originally 5 inches, now upgraded to 5.5 inches. Derived from the 1000 Brutale, it is Bluetooth-enabled and can be used as a GPS once the appropriate app has been installed on the smartphone. But that's not all. As with many recent high-tech machines, it can control calls, messages and music, as well as allowing the rider to configure the on-board electronics from the phone.
Under the skin, almost all the technology comes from the F3. The swingarm, the suspension, the engine. The 43 mm Marzocchi inverted fork and Sachs shock absorber are adjustable from all sides. The latter is a little different, aided by an optimized connecting rod. The front and rear subframes are also unique.
When it comes to getting the gravy flowing, this three-legged machine is no slouch when it comes to resources and emotion. Improved in a number of respects, it receives new valve guides, DLC treatment on the tappets, more powerful injectors and an updated ECU. Power is now rated at 147 hp, with torque topping 9 mkg.
The clutch is strengthened, and cooling is improved by 5% with a new oil cooler.
As an overlay, the electronics do the talking. Mapping has been revised for greater flexibility compared to the F3, and more homogeneity than yesterday's Superveloce. Next, the assistants are composed of :
- 4 Driving Modes, one of which can be customized
- 8-step traction control + deactivation
- Up&Down shifter
- Cruise control
- ABS
- Launch Control (new)
With this evocation and the arrival of an IMU inertial unit, assistants are more angle-sensitive and efficient, anti-wheeling becomes wheeling control, and ABS now comes from Continental and switches to cornering. The shifter has also been upgraded to version 3.0.
In addition to reworked colors, the Superveloce 2023 gains better brakes. It can now rely on highly efficient Stylema calipers, powered by a Brembo PR 16/19 radial master cylinder.
The instrumentation software has been redesigned for greater intuitiveness, while the Ride-by-wire system has been completely redesigned for improved feel.
On this 800 Superveloce, ergonomics claim to be a little more accommodating than on the F3. Temperament too. That's all very subjective, given the carafon of Varese machines.
Now, let's talk about what hurts. This beautiful Italian needs 20 bars to take you into carnal pleasure. It hurts. Definitely more than the F3 800... It's less than the S - a little more desirable. It jealously guards its (very special) spoked wheels and Arrow exhausts... MV sells top-of-the-range, Superveloce extends the charm.
