presentation of the Superveloce 800 Alpine 2021
MV-Agusta is no stranger to forging prestigious alliances. Wally, JeanRichard, Lewis Hamilton, Hydrogen, TheArsenal... and today with one of France's most emblematic sports car brands: Alpine.
A name that resonates with thrill and emotion to the point of bringing back a veritable icon, the Berlinette. A rally beast of unforgettable design. From the north of France to the center of Italy, the two houses hit it off on Tinder. 2021 will see their flirtation consecrated by the 800 Superveloce limited edition Alpine.
With this car, it's not envy but the heart that speaks first. The shadow of the A110 has infused itself into the bike. With a hint of F4 SP-01 Special Parts in ambush, the dress enriches the history of MV-Agusta's fine creations. Then, it's impossible not to be electrified by the blue that is inseparable from the Dieppe-based brand. In contrast to the ostentatious presence of an Oro or a 75 Anniversario, this special edition is full of elegance without extravagance. The color of today's A110s captivates you, then blasts of gray soothe the appetites; finally, flickers of black cover the debates. French luxury on Italian sculpted curves.

exceptionally , two flags are present on an MV-Agusta. The front mudguard features the French flag on the left and the Italian flag on the other.
As with other Superveloce models of fine lineage, the Alpine is sold with a racing kit that improves both appearance and power-to-weight ratio. The 3-cylinder engine develops 147 hp. It has been modified to meet Euro5 standards, and is the first Alpine to receive such approval. Once the triple Arrow exhaust and ECU have been installed, the engine develops 153 hp, while the weight drops by 8 kg. At 165 kg, the Italian is a ballerina.
The kit also includes a matching seat backrest, a personalized protective cover, the certificate of origin justifying its pedigree, and a CNC-machined fuel filler cap with the elegant leather retaining strap - inlaid with the Alpine name and initials. The stylized A also appears on a raised logo behind the front turn signals.
We won't be getting the beautiful spoked wheels of the Oro. Instead, MV has opted for wheels with delicately machined spokes. On the other hand, given the outrageous increase in price (over 16,000 euros more than the standard bike), it's intolerable not to have rims or a carbon fairing, top-of-the-range suspension or a magnesium swingarm. Compared to a Panigale V4 SP of the same price, the Superveloce Alpine shows a certain stinginess.

The neo-retro sports bike is amply equipped, with Up&Down shifter, 4 riding modes, 8-level traction control, cruise control, stop-start assistance and dual-mode ABS. The chassis is identical, with its mixed steel trellis frame/aluminum plates, 43 mm inverted fork, sturdy Brembo brake calipers and superb monobracket.
As you'd expect from the Varese-based manufacturer, this Alpine edition will be a limited series. 110 examples, to underline the nod to the legendary car of yesteryear and its current descendant. A sleek, light and powerful machine, with a visual signature full of charm and felinity.
The most exciting of French sports cars has made a remarkable entry into its market, despite its less than noble powertrain. Just think: a turbocharged 4-cylinder. Even if 252 or 292 horsepower are jostling for position, this kind of sports coupe and its prestigious name deserve at least a 6-cylinder.
But that's of little concern to us. Car or motorcycle, these creations are the stuff of dreams and fantasies for many of us.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 1 review
Apart from the price, they have nothing in common.
One is a limited series of a hypersport, the other is a limited series of a true 800cc café racer in partnership with another brand.
Both are works of art.
Simply put, this MV, even in its production version, has no real competition on the market. Using the v4 SP just to find some is inappropriate in my opinion.
I'd also say that advertising +16k€ over the base model doesn't make sense.
It's not the first time I've seen this remark, but the price comparison should be made on the basis of an Oro (28k€), as the level of finish is much closer.
In fact, you could say that this partnership is worth 8k€ more to the customer.
But in any case, these customers aren't interested in price ;) Rating : 5/5 Respond to Sig Z
