presentation of the Superveloce 800 2020
After unleashing its passions and fantasies, the MV-Agusta 800 Superveloce is finally ready to reveal itself to the public, to its fans, to its lovers. To its rich suitors for the Oro version, in a limited series and with refined production.
But, oh joy, also in a more affordable version, which will enable more people to enjoy this superb neo-retro sports car. A fashionable soul in an F3 800 body, desirable in every way.
The concept had everyone excited when it was presented at EICMA 2018. Its experimental status allowed it to indulge in a few fantasies, such as the deliciously vintage yellow headlight. On the production model, this piece of sunshine has disappeared. But that's about the only concession the Superveloce has had to make. Well, almost. The Oro series jealously guards its (very special) spoked wheels, the leather strap on the tank and the SC Project exhausts. But for those who love the silhouette, the essentials are there, intact, preserved from the original design right down to the cap in the middle of the windshield.
Superb, nothing else can describe it. You'll love it for that, and then you'll be intoxicated by the capabilities of the F3 800, its false twin. At first glance, it's clear that the F3 has stolen its triple tailpipes and spoked wheels. The tubular steel trellis frame attached to aluminum plates will also put you on the track. After that, it's hard to draw parallels.
A little digging reveals that it gains a handsome 5-inch color TFT screen, derived from that of the 1000 Brutale. It's Bluetooth-enabled and can be used as a GPS once the appropriate app has been installed on the smartphone. But that's not all. As with many recent high-tech machines, it can control calls, messages and music, as well as allowing the rider to configure the on-board electronics from the phone.

When it comes to getting the gravy flowing, this three-legged machine is no slouch when it comes to resources and emotion. It remains faithful to its 148 hp and its close proximity to 9 mkg. As an overlay, it's the electronics that do the talking. Mapping has been revised for greater flexibility. Next, the assistants are made up of :
- 4 Driving Modes, one of which can be customized
- 8-level traction control + deactivation
- Up&Down shifter
- Cruise control
- Dual-mode ABS
On this 800 Superveloce, ergonomics claim to be a little more accommodating than on the F3. Temperament too. That's all very subjective, given the carafon of Varese machines.
Now, let's talk about what hurts. This beautiful Italian needs 20 bars to take you into carnal pleasure. It hurts. Definitely more than the F3 800... Much less than the Oro. MV sells top-of-the-range products, and the Superveloce extends the charm.
Initially, this version of the Superveloce was to feature only two colors, predominantly red or white, both accompanied by a red frame and black fairing and wheels. However, in response to public feedback, two new shades were introduced. The traditional red and silver of MV-Agusta; and a very chic all-over black. Both of these evening gowns feature gold rims and frame.
