presentation of the F4Z Zagato 2016
from the first F4 750 Oro to the latest 800 Brutale, all 21st-century MV-Agustas are renowned for their beauty, sportiness and mastery of design. These are racy, demanding machines, with an inescapable feeling: envy.
For some, that's not enough. They need their own locution of creativity, somewhere between art and overactive expression. Such was the case for a Japanese entrepreneur, who asked for this very special model: the F4Z.
Z ? A well-known letter in the world of coachbuilders, and the symbol of the house of Zagato.
The Milan-based company realized the client's wishes and attempted to transpose his lifestyle, spirit and personality into an MV-Agusta. The result is a radically different F4. Taut, sharp lines, ready to devour speed, gave way to massive curves. A cyclops' eye, a suspension wind-jumper and a singular saddle later, the sports bike has radically evolved towards an Italian bio-manga expression. It's like being transported to Starck's wanderings when he created the Aprilia 6.5.
The bodywork is made of carbon and aluminum parts. Although the technical package underneath remains unchanged, some parts had to be adapted to this design, such as the fuel tank, intake manifolds, battery and exhausts.
The MV-Agusta F4Z was officially unveiled at the Chantilly Arts & Elegance competition. A far cry from the paddocks and the track, where a standard F4 naturally flourishes, expressing its potential for adrenalin and trajectory. But an MV-Agusta remains a very special motorcycle. The F4 1080 CC, Brutale Brand Milano, Wally, Hydrogen (and now Zagato) have long built bridges between the Varese brand and the world of prestige.
