presentation of the 750 GSX-R 2009
a raptor's beak, a hawk's silhouette in flight - that's the look of the new GSX-Rs. A symbolism that sums up the whole philosophy of Suzuki's 750 sport bike: the voracity (of the track) and performance of the world's fastest bird.
Beautiful? Always! Just a little more aggressive than before. With this new face, the machine is even more determined and intimidating. Under the wings of the optic, the SRAD air intakes have been moved even closer together to gobble up air even more efficiently. Gone are the days of side vents - gone are the days of central tunnels. Suzuki still resists the trend for air intakes in the middle of the front, and continues to force air through ducts running through the side members. The competition, meanwhile, is increasingly using the steering column airflow technique. But Suz remains true to form.
It's not just the front end that has been reworked. The rear end has also been modernized, with magnificent taillights... disturbingly similar to those on an MV-Agusta F4. The side panels are less pampered, evolving with subtlety. A nice touch: depending on the design, the R logo is either traditional red, or embossed in silver.
like the 600 GSX-R, the 7? is getting a stylistic and (above all) technical update for 2008. If this perpetual quest for improvement is fully justified for Supersport, it may seem less interesting for this displacement, former representative of Superbike and now eclipsed by the overpowering and prestigious 1000 cc bikes. But... Suzuki hasn't forgotten that in the hearts of enthusiasts, the 750 GSX-R is THE SPORTSMAN par excellence, the one that turned the world upside down in 1985, a legend deserving of all our attention. And on the road, it's certainly the best compromise between performance and usability.
for several years now, the GSX-R 750 has been the leading example in its class, regularly benefiting from all the family's technological innovations to remain a sports queen with fearsome performance
although this block has the same dimensions as before - 749 cm3, 76 mm bore and 48.7 mm stroke - its racing pace will evolve. While the red zone is still set at 15,000 rpm, the arrival of the nags can now be channelled with the help of S-DMS, the system that allows you to select one of the 3 available mappings. This little extra is now standard on the entire GSX-R range, from the 600 to the 1300. In the realm of electronic chips, the 32-bit processor that controls the heart of the machine is now backed up by 1 megabyte of ROM memory.
And that's not the only "little attention to detail" that goes into the 750: it's equipped like a big one, with multiple performance enhancers. Fuel supply is now provided by 2 injection manifolds, i.e. 8 injectors. The mixture passes through titanium valves controlled by new hollow camshafts. Between the cylinders, the pressure-balancing holes have been enlarged by 2 mm (from 39 to 41).
As a worthy descendant of the Superbikes, the GSX-R 750 is equipped with the utmost care: braking is, of course, fully radial, the instrument panel features a shiflight, a gear indicator, displays the selected mapping mode, and the gearbox ratios are very close to each other.the swingarm is more than imposing, the footrests are adjustable, and the chassis follows the trend towards simplification and optimized mass centering.

With all this equipment, the GSX-R 750 has nothing to envy from its cousins in the higher category
Proud, audacious, proud and mischievous, the Suzuki GSX-R 750 has stood the test of time, embracing the best of evolution. For its 23rd birthday, the Hammamatsu factory gave it the best it had to offer, on condition that it shared it with its little 600 sister. The last representative of a legendary era is determined to carry her honor to the end.

I think it's a shame that for a 2008 model, it doesn't have a hydraulic clutch like its big sister, the 1000. After that, it's a matter of taste, but more designer brake and clutch levers, or at least black anodized ones, would be welcome
Otherwise, I'm ready to give in, but I live on Reunion Island and here it's 15,900€ that you have to pay, and 16,800€ for the 1000 Rating : 5/5 Respond to Ducat
