Motorcycle specifications Triumph865 BONNEVILLE AMERICA 2010 The Englishwoman goes to the States
presentation of the 865 BONNEVILLE AMERICA 2010
to escape to the American continent, Triumph took a serious look at the Bonneville. More than just subtle modifications, the 800 has undergone profound changes. The fork is wider, the fuel tank more muscular, the seat is lowered one level and the footrests are moved forward. A host of little extra details and the Bonneville adopts a "big cruiser" look. The engine, too, has had its innards worked on by skilled hands to give it a more Rican image and personality. As a result, the bike is more generous in its vibrations, voice and sensations. After the switch to 865 cm3 in 2007 and the adoption of fuel injection in 2008, the America's engine has been pampered by Hinckley's engine-makers for 2009: power is back above the 60 hp mark; but above all, torque jumps to 7.4 mkg , a maximum value obtained at even lower revs than before. A more playful attitude that takes the america cruising, thanks to a longer gear ratio. In this more "road 66" version, the Bonneville takes on some weight, but this is not detrimental, as the English beauty still offers healthy handling and a pleasant overall ease of use. However, this "Americanization" also translates into less-than-pleasant suspension and braking that must be used sparingly, as the single front disc is responsible for slowing down this beautiful beast.
