presentation of the 865 BONNEVILLE Tag Heuer 2009
how did 2 brands like Tag Heuer and Triumph come together to create this special edition of the Bonneville? Simple: they share the aura of a legendary character: Steve McQueen. The actor made the Swiss watchmaker's Monaco model famous in the film Le Mans (1970); he is also eternally associated with the history of Triumph, and in particular with the Bonneville. The result is this unique Bonneville Tag Heuer, presented in Paris on June 24, 2009 in the presence of Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton. The presentation was a superb opportunity to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Swiss manufacturer's Monaco collection.
This Bonneville features a very special decoration: the colors of the Monaco calibre 12 chronograph. The watch features a new design inspired by the Porsche Gulf 917K driven by Steve McQueen in the film Le Mans. You see, everything overlaps... For the record, TAG Heuer created the first water-resistant square case in watchmaking history in 1969 with this model. The Monaco is also the world's first automatic chronograph. If you're so inclined, you can start a collection with a JeanRichard MV-Agusta 1078 Brutale.
