presentation of the 675 Daytona R 2012
it's a surprise, it's unprecedented, it's superb. With this R version, the Daytona 675 joins the ranks of prestigious sports bikes equipped with Öhlins suspension as standard. In its wake are the Yamaha R1 SP 2006 and SP-R 2010, the Ducati 1198 R Corse, theAprilia RSV4 Factory...* All big Superbike beasts. Triumph dares to offer a Supersport with Swedish suspension, something never seen before in this category - with the exception of the Ducati 749 R, but that was a limited edition model, sold for World Championship entry. The British sports car already shone particularly brightly in terms of performance; here's something to make it majestic on the track.
if only that were enough... The Daytona 675 R is a real gem, making you want to set a lap time just by looking at it. At the end of the Öhlins fork, the brake calipers are Brembo radial monoblocs: a real winner. The 19 mm Nissin master cylinder has been replaced by an 18 mm Brembo for greater efficiency and feel. The mudguards are made of carbon, the tires are Pirelli Diablo Superbikes (reworked slick, you know...) and to excite the retina a little more, the rear frame tubes are painted red, in stark contrast to the pearly white of the bodywork. This R takes advantage of the operation to lose a kilo, enabling it to boast a cheeky 185 kg when fully loaded. The calligraphy of the stickers has also evolved, but this pistarde smells so much of gunpowder that we'd have appreciated something a little flashier. Oh sure, the wallet takes a bit of a beating - but the R is a bargain: the value of the equipment (Öhlins NIX 30 fork, Öhlins TTX 36 shock absorber, carbon parts, shifter) would cost you more than double if you had to buy it separately. The suspension equipment alone makes the Daytona R a winner in every respect - everything else is a gift. So there's no excuse not to treat yourself.

* I could have mentioned the Ducati S and R versions, the old Aprilia RSV R and Factory , the Yamaha FZR 750 R and R7, and many other models. But you'll soon be able to see them all in a special section - don't get jealous.
