presentation of the 1050 Tiger Sport 2016

when it underwent its 1050 metamorphosis, the Triumph Tiger took a much sportier direction than the 900 / 955 model. As a result, it was difficult to assume the role of trail-GT within the range.
With the 1200 Explorer now offering a truly maxi trail bike, the Tiger can now fully satisfy its muscular desires. This episode is rightly called SPORT, and evolves in the direction of enthusiastic riding.

another Tiger, another design? Not exactly: the silhouette is very similar, but many things have changed, giving it a subtly more pronounced dynamism. What's new? More racy fairing side panels, a revised forkhead housing lighter, more efficient headlights, a well-trimmed rear end and, above all, the adoption of a single-spoke frame finished off by a superb, perfectly unobstructed and oh-so-aggressive rim. Other small changes include the engine cowling, triangular indicators, seat material, sculpted footrests, coloured seat seams, various aluminium components, engine cases, handlebar protectors, etc...

without changing mills, the English tiger gains an XP level and shows its grunt. Its 3-cylinder engine gains 10 hp and just over half a kg. With 125 horses in the vilo and an extra tooth in the rear crown, the gain in acceleration, acceleration and sportiness will be notable. As an added bonus, fuel consumption is claimed to be down by 7%. More watts for less thirst, no one will complain. Triumph has taken advantage of the engine fiddling to improve the gearbox and make it smoother. Braking, with large discs, 4-piston radial calipers and braided hoses, is equipped with the latest ABS on the market.

is it called Sport just because it has more horsepower and a single-arm? No, because it's also got revised geometry, suspension and ergonomics. With a half-degree tighter rake, a wheelbase that's just a tad longer and slightly lower handlebars, it feels more responsive in terms of steering without sacrificing stability. The damping benefits from new springs and valves. In terms of seating and crew accommodation, the longer saddle has been slimmed down at the front by 5 mm (now 830 mm), inviting the passenger to sit lower and be better protected by the rider's back. PS: nice red stitching.
The left-hand commodo has also been modified so that you can operate the dashboard without taking your hands off the handlebars.

the Triumph Tiger Sport 1050 is no stranger to travel. Its rear buckle allows larger cases to be fitted as an option. Each can accommodate a full-face helmet and 10 kilos of cargo.
This update puts the Tiger to good use, offering a more playful alternative to the Explorer and Trophy. .

In the long term
French Olaphe Model 2014
11 years of good and loyal service 90,000 km It still runs It isvtjrs beautiful The finish has aged quite well Maintenance done on time Only problem encountered key switch to change Otherwise everything is original Rating : 5/5
French droumaou Model 2013
I just bought a 2013 one, a real treat. As you've read in the other reviews, it's supple, powerful, playful, with top braking and a very pretty face. I was hesitating with the GS 1200 twin-shaft but riding alone it'll suffice for comfort..... and it's more "sporty". A must for those who hesitate. Rating : 5/5

By far the best machine 3-cylinder engine a marvel braking behavior look I had varadero tdm 9oo and many other super compromise no regret Tiger sport 2014 Rating : 5/5
Déçu ...
French ricardo Model 2015
I've just tried it out at the dealership, and I'm still not satisfied! The so-called "dream" engine didn't live up to expectations, and it was impossible to drive at low speed on a trickle of throttle: the engine systematically jerked on acceleration, requiring a great deal of skill to control it. Perhaps the mapping was incorrectly set? the dealer mentioned setting difficulties linked to anti-pollution standards!
On the other hand, the bike's handling is very sound, and braking is impeccable. The bubble, though not very high, protects the rider relatively well. So I'm left with a mixed impression, the best thing being to go back and try it out again, hoping that this time the engine will be correctly adjusted.

Je l'adore
Happy owner since May 2014.
A daily treat (80 km/day on average). Fuel consumption lower than advertised!
Really Top red look.
Very good mechanics, very good quality (I have had, in 25 years of 2 wheels, motorcycles of all brands, including HONDA: 2 VFR 800 - 1 CBF 1000, and YAMAHA: TDM 850 - 600 THUNDERCAT - 900 DIVERSION)

Well, you have to give it some flaws, otherwise people will think I'm sponsored by TRIUMPH: watch out for rust spots on the pot (they're very easy to remove); also, during the summer heatwave, in Paris traffic, after an hour, the engine kept my legs very hot! Last but not least, it cost me a few points on my driving license!
Very nice dealership (OSNY)!

Certainly the best value for money I've ever had on 2 wheels!

Belle découverte !
French zykva Model 2015
Coming from the Explorer 1200, which I've always found too truckish and difficult to handle given its weight and high center of gravity, I'm back with this Sport 1050. Easy to ride, playful, lively and smooth under acceleration with the Arrow pot. No heated seat available, only grips, and taller riders will need to fit a higher GIPI-style bubble. Once that's in place, this bike is a joy to ride! Rating : 5/5
a quand la XC ???
French boboleponge Model 2014
the fabulous tripattes stretch out the arms with an intoxicating sound, but given that ktm has just released a 1050 adventure and honda is going to do the same thing with the 1000cm3 africa twin.
will triumph retaliate by releasing a REAL trail bike with a 21" front and 18" rear to create one of the best trail bikes on the market? ????? because the J\'ACHETE (you'll have to put the brakes on a par with the bmw and ktm because the c\'is a bit soft)
Rating : 2/5
French triple bru Model 2014
My third Triumph! The speed's fabulous engine (I had a 2008), just a little calmer, but above all the possibility of taking Madame out in more comfortable conditions than on the speed. Lively, precise, with enough horsepower to go fast and far... Rating : 4/5
