Access to the "Chrome" collection begins with the 900 Speed Twin (formerly known as Street Twin). Of the 10 models in this vintage series, the most modest of the neo-classics is also the one that turns the most red. Red isn't on the cheeks, but on the tank.
You can 't sum up a motorcycle by its back canister, but you can for Triumph's dixtuor. Because here, everything hinges on this element. Despite its name, this machine is only allowed a few square decimeters of chrome - to simulate grip-knees. All around, the Red Hopper paintwork has conquered all.
dennis hasnothing to do with it. With this paint scheme, the 900 gains in appeal. A real midget compared to the tasteless colors of the standard Speed Twin. The painter's job isn't quite as obvious as on more upscale "Chrome" models, but he'll still have spent a few hours with the brush and polisher; everything by hand.
A caustic detail : the modest Speed Twin is part of this ephemeral (2023 only) and classy collection... while the big 1200 has to do without this expression. It's bad enough it wasn't invited to the "Gold Line" series. There'll be grumbling at the table.
But once the pomp and circumstance are out of the way, the Speed Twin 900 Chrome can't look down on its standard sibling. They're identical, right down to the bolts. No optional accessories, no hidden secrets.
It's with the good humor of its 65-horsepower parallel twin that the machine will take its face for a spin. Its rejuvenated Bonneville look is accompanied by modern solutions such as Riding Modes (Rain or Road), traction control, ABS, an under-seat USB port, a power-assisted clutch, and an envied popularity within the brand.
To take advantage of this, two conditions must be met: don't wait until 2024 to order it, and provide a small extension of 350 bales.
