presentation of the 600 FAZER FZS 2002
the new fork head - that's what's so controversial about the new Fazer. Apart from the different bubble, it's a clone of the 1000. It's clear, it looks good, and it adds the charm that the Fazer has lacked until now. The new headlights provide better illumination, erasing one of the few shortcomings of the old FZS. Brilliant? Yes, but there's a flip side: protection has lost out. Cruising speed, without neck muscles straining, has dropped by 20 km/h. Aesthetics and practicality don't necessarily go hand in hand. For its facelift, the Fazer has also been given a larger fuel tank (+ 2 L) and a stainless steel silencer. The chassis and engine remain unchanged. So it's only natural that the Fazer's exemplary, easy-going handling is back. The 4-cylinder engine, used on the T-cat, is as available as ever (a little more gniak at low revs, and a little more character, and it would be perfect). The bike guides itself with ease, agility and lightness. There are a number of details that enhance the new Fazer, such as the new, more efficient rear-view mirrors, soft-mounted turn signals, and small finishing touches that reinforce the impression of quality. With the exception of reduced protection, the new 600 FZS retains its qualities. It's just that it's been given a new, more seductive look. And it's a pleasure to ride it, ma'am!

However, a word of advice to anyone buying one: make sure you check its past history. Personally, I found a first-hand model with excellent maintenance, as I didn't want to end up with a poor bike that had abused its stoppies and wheelings with a flushed engine. Rating : 5/5 Respond to bandit66
It's easy to ride at 34hp (despite a top speed of 165km/h), but the throttle is just the thing to reassure a young rider
In fact, I tested it at full throttle and it became downright wild without you even realizing how fast it was going. In short, I love it! Rating : 5/5 Respond to floduBA
I own a 2003 FAZER FZS 600, clearly a delight
I'm an enthusiast, so maintenance and servicing are done by a professional and with rigor... but it's worth it ;-)
I ride from 200 to 350 kms. Which means that my 350 km outings... I do them with my full tank ;-)
Of course, you need to exceed 6,000 rpm to have fun... but it's a 4-cylinder, 4-stroke 600... so everything's normal
Oh yes, I almost forgot, mine has 81,000 kms to date (all original)
I look forward to hearing from you

I just bought a 2003 600 fazer with 95hp. I'm a young license holder, so I'm limited to 34 hp. I bought this bike because it said it was possible for an a2 mtt1 license, but when I asked Yamaha, it wasn't possible to get the bridle certificate
In fact, the bike can be clamped in 34 hp, it does not exceed a power of 70kW but its weight/power ratio in kW/kg is 0.3 instead of 0.2 ..
I see that several of you bought this bike when you were a young licence holder... can you please help me! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Alicia
In one month I will have 1 year of motorcycle licence and therefore 1 year of riding with my Yam\' (FZS600-2002). I love the riding position, its reaction, its wisdom, its moments of fury and above all the reassuring effect it gives me, it reacts well to bad road conditions and the little deviations of a beginner...
For a young licensee, it's excellent. I was lucky enough to benefit from its 95hp as soon as I got my license, but its handling is much more comfortable than the XJ on which I did my training!
It's a great bike, and you can crunch the miles with no problem ;)
See you on the road

The first was the 1999. Now I have a 2002. I love Fazer, My precious! ahahah
As Julien said and I can't write better
"Its engine behavior is often cited as a flaw, but it allows these two kinds of uses: below 5000rpm you have a cushy bike ideal for cruising, above 7000rpm you're with a sports bike ready to tear up the asphalt. "
It does 5.6L/100
Pardon my French ...nÂ'est pas bon. I understand most of it, but writing and speaking it is more difficult! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Pedro Santos

What more can I say? An excellent motorcycle, safe, reliable and reasonable in maintenance. I've had mine (restyled 2003 version) for two years and I like it more and more. Whether you want to ride quietly or like a brute, the Fazer lets you do both. Its engine behavior is often cited as a flaw, but it allows both types of use: below 5000rpm you've got a cushy bike ideal for cruising, above 7000rpm you've got a sportbike ready to rip up the asphalt.
The chassis is also very good, with a special mention for the brakes and healthy handling.
In short, a great bike! Rating : 5/5 Respond to julien34

A word of advice, though, and that's to install a quality set of tires - in my case, two Michelin Power. As the Pilot Road 1 is often installed at the rear by default, I strongly advise against it if you want to stay on the bike when cornering.
And as for the l\'attaque, tested on the Ardèche gorges, the Nesque gorges, the Cevennes and the Route des Crêtes... easy to take around corners, with a responsive engine, even the sportbikes will hang on behind to keep up the pace.
My 600 Fazer: 2003, 80,000km, top speed 220 km/h with short bubble and straight handlebars, Michelin POWER or Pilot Road 2 tires. Rating : 4/5 Respond to Rider1
I've since decided to ride a 600 fazer and sold the 900.
Very versatile, I can take my kids or my wife, and we've travelled several thousand km without a single problem.
I do a lot of mountain passes because I live at the foot of the mountains, and frankly, it's fine, even when I'm messing around. The next one will be a Fazer 800, just for the torque when exiting corners, especially on a hilly road. a very good bike, no major downtime during service. I ride it in spring, summer and autumn, and it does about 12,000 to 15,000 km.
Bonne route a tous. Rating : 4/5 Respond to pajo
Frankly, I love riding my Fazer 600. I did try the latest 800... and no luck, it heats up terribly. Whether you're on the road or in town, the fan kicks in after 104°. It's a shame, because if it weren't for this fault, I'd be riding an 800 right now.
It's up to you, and above all, you've got to try it. @ Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation

I ride it every day, and it always cleans up nicely
This machine is good for everything, extremely reliable and costs nothing to buy or maintain
I used to have a 2001 SVS 650, but frankly I don't regret it. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a bike to ride on weekends and go to work during the week, and who doesn't want to break the bank on a new bike. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Paulo

i do 300km on the highway and between 200 and 250 km on the mountain passes, max speed 240-250km/h, it's just as good for city riding (very easy to handle) as for long-distance riding (good position), you can ride it in hobo or sport mode and you won't be disappointed!
i don't think they made it in 34hp........
maintenance every 10000km , it has 32000km and no worries (oil ect.....) Rating : 5/5 Respond to titi67
