presentation of the 600 FAZER FZS 2002

the new fork head - that's what's so controversial about the new Fazer. Apart from the different bubble, it's a clone of the 1000. It's clear, it looks good, and it adds the charm that the Fazer has lacked until now. The new headlights provide better illumination, erasing one of the few shortcomings of the old FZS. Brilliant? Yes, but there's a flip side: protection has lost out. Cruising speed, without neck muscles straining, has dropped by 20 km/h. Aesthetics and practicality don't necessarily go hand in hand. For its facelift, the Fazer has also been given a larger fuel tank (+ 2 L) and a stainless steel silencer. The chassis and engine remain unchanged. So it's only natural that the Fazer's exemplary, easy-going handling is back. The 4-cylinder engine, used on the T-cat, is as available as ever (a little more gniak at low revs, and a little more character, and it would be perfect). The bike guides itself with ease, agility and lightness. There are a number of details that enhance the new Fazer, such as the new, more efficient rear-view mirrors, soft-mounted turn signals, and small finishing touches that reinforce the impression of quality. With the exception of reduced protection, the new 600 FZS retains its qualities. It's just that it's been given a new, more seductive look. And it's a pleasure to ride it, ma'am!

I bought this bike new on August 1, 2003, and I can say that it's the best bike I'll ever buy. It's reliable, beautiful, easy to handle, roadworthy, sporty, rider-friendly and, eventually, passenger-friendly. Even if I buy another bike, this one will always remain in my garage, in the place of honor it has earned over the years. The more time passes, the more I appreciate it and recognize its great qualities. Given the direction taken by the motorcycle market some time ago, this bike will remain for me the best by far. Congratulations to Yamaha. Rating : 5/5

Good first bike. After two years of use and some ten thousand kilometers, not a single mechanical problem. Reliable and economical for mainly urban riding, I'm on about 5.0/5.5L per 100 kms. With a large fuel tank. I've managed to go up to 420kms on a full tank. It's great for beginners, because it's quick to get to grips with and not treacherous (it's very rare to have a scare with it). The only downside is that you need to keep the revs up (above 6/7000 rpm to really feel the power). I'm planning to switch to an FZ8S at a later date. Rating : 5/5

Hello, I own a 2003 600 Fazer (blue, it was one of the last imported into France before the arrival of the new fuel-injected model, but I absolutely wanted this one). I bought it new 20 years ago, and today I still love it just as much, and I find that aesthetically it hasn't aged a bit. If you take either from this bike, it will take either from you. It's easy to ride, whether you're going for a leisurely or a sporty ride. Below 7,000 rpm, you've got a very pleasant touring bike with enough torque for good acceleration, even at low revs, and above 7,000 rpm, a sporty bike that's a pleasure to ride (it'll give you a real rush). It's reliable, easy to handle, forgiving of mistakes for beginners, in short, it has everything to please even today. I still enjoy riding it, even after 20 years. This bike can do it all. I love it, try it and you'll understand, to try it is to adopt it. Rating : 5/5

Bought 2 years ago to refresh my hand before going bigger, the big one arrived but the FZS still has its place in the garage, I really enjoy riding it, it's safe, very stable in mountain curves (I ride soft two-compounds on the corner), it has brakes and lighting worthy of the name, enough torque for me, power too, I really don't regret buying it, I was more of a Bandit in the 2000s
However, a word of advice to anyone buying one: make sure you check its past history. Personally, I found a first-hand model with excellent maintenance, as I didn't want to end up with a poor bike that had abused its stoppies and wheelings with a flushed engine.

after years on a 125, I passed my GC and my first bike is a 2002 FAZER 600
It's easy to ride at 34hp (despite a top speed of 165km/h), but the throttle is just the thing to reassure a young rider
In fact, I tested it at full throttle and it became downright wild without you even realizing how fast it was going. In short, I love it!

Hi everyone,
I own a 2003 FAZER FZS 600, clearly a delight
I'm an enthusiast, so maintenance and servicing are done by a professional and with rigor... but it's worth it ;-)
I ride from 200 to 350 kms. Which means that my 350 km outings... I do them with my full tank ;-)
Of course, you need to exceed 6,000 rpm to have fun... but it's a 4-cylinder, 4-stroke 600... so everything's normal
Oh yes, I almost forgot, mine has 81,000 kms to date (all original)
I look forward to hearing from you

Clamped in 34 hp, my fazer is perfect, and runs very well even clamped. I've fitted it with a 14-tooth sprocket, air filter, short delkevic exhaust and bearded synchro. I can tell you that I'm having a lot of fun with it... Very good bike, 57,000 KM. I'm planning a complete overhaul for the clutch this summer... Rating : 5/5

French Alicia Model 2003
Hello,
I just bought a 2003 600 fazer with 95hp. I'm a young license holder, so I'm limited to 34 hp. I bought this bike because it said it was possible for an a2 mtt1 license, but when I asked Yamaha, it wasn't possible to get the bridle certificate
In fact, the bike can be clamped in 34 hp, it does not exceed a power of 70kW but its weight/power ratio in kW/kg is 0.3 instead of 0.2 ..

I see that several of you bought this bike when you were a young licence holder... can you please help me!

Hello everyone,
In one month I will have 1 year of motorcycle licence and therefore 1 year of riding with my Yam\' (FZS600-2002). I love the riding position, its reaction, its wisdom, its moments of fury and above all the reassuring effect it gives me, it reacts well to bad road conditions and the little deviations of a beginner...
For a young licensee, it's excellent. I was lucky enough to benefit from its 95hp as soon as I got my license, but its handling is much more comfortable than the XJ on which I did my training!
It's a great bike, and you can crunch the miles with no problem ;)
See you on the road

Hi all, I got my license in 2008 and after 7 years of waiting I just bought a 2003 600 fazer with 48 000 kms. It's a blast! This bike is beautiful, easy to handle and often forgives my little beginner mistakes. Pleasant for cool rides as well as for attacks that are a little more peachy. I feel good and confident...I'm a fan...:) Rating : 5/5

As the proud owner of a 2003 Fazer 600, I never tire of riding this machine. Although I've ridden over 500 bikes in the course of my career (as an auto/motorcycle editor for 25 years), I've always enjoyed riding it again, whatever the model I've tried. My Fazer now has over 178,000 km on the clock. The valve train was overhauled at 90,000 km, and I'm planning the same operation at 200,000 km. Reliability is exemplary: a water pump, front fork spi seals and a front brake master cylinder have all been replaced. After putting it through 75 km of daily urban use in the Paris region (La Défense tunnel, Paris ring road and queue ups) and a monthly Paris-Annecy round trip, I'm now enjoying it on the back roads of Haute Savoie. This bike does it all... well (very!). Rating : 5/5

As Julien said and I can't write better

"Its engine behavior is often cited as a flaw, but it allows these two kinds of uses: below 5000rpm you have a cushy bike ideal for cruising, above 7000rpm you're with a sports bike ready to tear up the asphalt. "

It does 5.6L/100

Agile, with an engine that's smooth at the bottom and furious at the top (for a 600), and high-performance braking that's very responsive. The bike is stable and sound. Even after 80,000 km, maintenance is not expensive. It's hard to find a more versatile bike at the same price, purchase and insurance included. Rating : 5/5

Hello everyone,
What more can I say? An excellent motorcycle, safe, reliable and reasonable in maintenance. I've had mine (restyled 2003 version) for two years and I like it more and more. Whether you want to ride quietly or like a brute, the Fazer lets you do both. Its engine behavior is often cited as a flaw, but it allows both types of use: below 5000rpm you've got a cushy bike ideal for cruising, above 7000rpm you've got a sportbike ready to rip up the asphalt.
The chassis is also very good, with a special mention for the brakes and healthy handling.
In short, a great bike!

Hi Marie, you just need to check out Direct Assurance, where you can get a free online quote (and they don't harass you afterwards)... Once you've filled in the form, they'll give you a price, and if they don't, it'll say you can't insure it. For example, I'm going to insure a 1998 Kawa er5, but the registration is for an mtt1 (so technically the bike has 34 hp). They don't look at the bike. Just find one where the registration is marked MTT1. Then you'll be able to put the brakes on it if you want. Have a nice day! Rating : 4/5

la meilleure moto à l'aube du 21esiècle?
French Model 2002
That's what I think, if you take its price into account. Rather pretty bike, well finished, light, with a full engine for a 600cm3 (very decent torque), high-performance, well suspended, good braking, comfortable both solo and duo, not shaky on the track, good lighting in its latest version, at ease both in town and on the open road. It's easy to understand its success when you've been around a lot of bikes, as I have. Even the completely modified version that followed didn't do as well. Only protection needs to be improved with a high bubble and scoops if you do a lot of riding, and a stainless steel manifold if possible. Rating : 5/5

A powerful engine combined with a chassis that's reassuringly stable in both curves and straights. Biting braking that makes it easy to correct a speed that's a little too generous at the start of a curve. In town, it's easy to handle and makes little noise below 7,000 rpm. Once unleashed on small roads, increasing the pace beyond 7,000 rpm propels the Fazer through the bends. As for the freeway, the high-bubble version is perfect for long trips at 140 km/h.

A word of advice, though, and that's to install a quality set of tires - in my case, two Michelin Power. As the Pilot Road 1 is often installed at the rear by default, I strongly advise against it if you want to stay on the bike when cornering.

And as for the l\'attaque, tested on the Ardèche gorges, the Nesque gorges, the Cevennes and the Route des Crêtes... easy to take around corners, with a responsive engine, even the sportbikes will hang on behind to keep up the pace.

My 600 Fazer: 2003, 80,000km, top speed 220 km/h with short bubble and straight handlebars, Michelin POWER or Pilot Road 2 tires.

We've just swapped our 650 bi for this 4cyl 600, and the change requires time to get to grips with... the engine. You have to change your driving style, shift gears more often, and stay in the revs for a while if you want to move as swiftly as you would with a bi. The pleasure is different, and can be found in the roar of the engine as it attacks a generous rpm range. Otherwise, you'll be able to ride more quietly and enjoy the pleasant suppleness of the engine, despite the somewhat rough yam gearbox. The same style of bike as a gpz500s, low, long, light, comfortable, compact and sporty enough for enthusiasts - in short, a damn fine all-rounder with an attractive finish. Rating : 4/5

Hi all, biker for at least 10 years, several bikes between 600 and 900 like the hornet.
I've since decided to ride a 600 fazer and sold the 900.
Very versatile, I can take my kids or my wife, and we've travelled several thousand km without a single problem.
I do a lot of mountain passes because I live at the foot of the mountains, and frankly, it's fine, even when I'm messing around. The next one will be a Fazer 800, just for the torque when exiting corners, especially on a hilly road. a very good bike, no major downtime during service. I ride it in spring, summer and autumn, and it does about 12,000 to 15,000 km.
Bonne route a tous.

Hello Pajo,
Frankly, I love riding my Fazer 600. I did try the latest 800... and no luck, it heats up terribly. Whether you're on the road or in town, the fan kicks in after 104°. It's a shame, because if it weren't for this fault, I'd be riding an 800 right now.
It's up to you, and above all, you've got to try it. @

Hi everyone, I've had this bike for a month. I've already done almost 4000 km with it. It has 30,000 km on the odometer; it's a great machine, easy to handle. It's great for cruising around, but also for attacking. Yesterday I took a GSR 600 out for a spin and followed it without too much trouble; it's true that when attacking corners at high speed (between 180 and 200 on the freeway) the chassis pumps a little, but nothing to worry about. I switched to pilot power and frankly, it's royal
I ride it every day, and it always cleans up nicely
This machine is good for everything, extremely reliable and costs nothing to buy or maintain
I used to have a 2001 SVS 650, but frankly I don't regret it. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a bike to ride on weekends and go to work during the week, and who doesn't want to break the bank on a new bike.

i do 300km on the highway and between 200 and 250 km on the mountain passes, max speed 240-250km/h, it's just as good for city riding (very easy to handle) as for long-distance riding (good position), you can ride it in hobo or sport mode and you won't be disappointed!
i don't think they made it in 34hp........
maintenance every 10000km , it has 32000km and no worries (oil ect.....)

Hi all, well I've just bought a 'tite fazer after waiting 3 years for my licence and I'm far from being disappointed: easy to handle, the cycle part makes you feel confident (even a bit too much ... ;-) ), it has enough CV for a beginner and moreover it doesn't consume: 300 kms approximately with a full tank...
In short, I'm hooked!

go @+ and be careful

Merci Ch'bob pour la réponse. j'aime bien cette moto cependant il serait plus judicieux de porter mon choix sur un cb 600 f. As the power is not extraordinary and a resonable weight. see you soon bikers! ;) Rating : 5/5

Hi Manight. I don't know this bike in 34hp. But I think the power would be a bit too much for the Fazer. I've had the opportunity to do a bit of road riding on this model and it still proves to be very agile and lively. But at 34hp, I'm afraid its already linear character would become downright lifeless. In 34hp, maybe try to find a CB500 that's a little more torquey in 34hp. Rating : 5/5
