Even though this is the last year we'll see the R1 on sale for off-road use (after that, it's track-only*), that doesn't stop Yamaha from throwing in a few surprises. The proof is in the Jonathan Rea Replica edition. Crescent, the official World Superbike team, is celebrating the arrival of the multiple world champion in its ranks with this superb special series.

Beautiful and intense! Iwata's hypersport perfectly captures the scent of competition with its colors. Unusually, this replica is available in two distinct liveries. Either the official livery of the machine entered for the 2024 season, or the stealthy "Winter Test" livery used during off-season testing.

The number 65 has been Johnny's companion for many years. It can also be found on the fairing of this R1, as in the number of models produced. Rea and team manager Paul Denning will certify each model themselves, from the first to the 65th enthusiast.

Beware, the Crescent team isn't content with a pretty exterior and an endorsement by the six-time WSBK champion. The bike benefits from a good dose of preparation, to make it more desirable and efficient; but not too much either, so that it retains its right to ride on the road.
It all starts with a handsome Akrapovic titanium exhaust system, feeding the powerful, growling sound of the 200-hp Crossplane 4-cylinder. Then, top-notch roadholding with Marchesini forged-aluminum wheels wrapped in Pirelli SuperCorsa SP tires. More responsive braking with a Brembo 19 RCS master cylinder and HEL braided hoses. From there, an improved secondary transmission with a DID 520 chain and Gandini 16/41 sprocket set. And then..

More good stuff, with plenty of Öhlins on board. The Swedish brand takes care of damping on both sides, but not entirely. This R1 doesn't get a complete fork, but an in-house preparation, with a NIX cartridge kit, springs and oil to match. A TTX rear shock absorber and a steering damper from the same manufacturer complete the package.

this beautiful R1 also thinks about protecting itself (you too, youngsters) with GB Racing and GYTR components. Crescent goes the extra mile with a JR (Jonathan Rea) branded racing seat, a small plate holder, a "shark fin" type chain guard, wheel axle ends, Pro-Bolt titanium engine and chassis mountings, a carbon seat cover and tank extension.

For the most ferocious of brakers, the British team offers a very nasty optional kit (at £2,000), with Brembo GP4-RX calipers and T-Drive discs. Big stuff! Also available is a 700-lb. garage pack, with a cover, mat and workshop crutches.
With all this, this R1 replica JR isn't cheap. 29,995 pounds, or just over 35,000 euros. Don't worry about selling out the 65 units: Crescent's previous special series, at the end of 2021, sold out in less than 36 hours.
