the idea of introducing a supermotard to the French market based on the new XTR 660 was a brilliant one for Yamaha. Let's take advantage of it and continue on this good path. The result is the XTX 125, a true copy of the great XT. Armed with 17" wheels and an insignificant weight, this new toy will excite a lot of teenagers. The XTX is the supermotardized version of the XT 125 R. It shares most of the XT's components, but has its own brakes, front suspension, wheels and tires. With the DTX and WR X, there's now a good choice of supermotard models in Yamaha's 125 range, from the most sensible to the sportiest. The XT is cleaner than the DT, but lacks the fishing power, especially as the DTX can gain horsepower. The WR X, more elistist and spirited, makes you pay for its performance. The XTX retains one of its strong points, namely a look strongly inspired by the big 660.

for the XTR model: basic bike but reliable overall, maintenance can be done yourself (oil change in particular) the only thing you need to know not to kill your meter is to systematically remove the red 10A fuse as soon as you want to touch the electrical part, if only to recharge the battery! hello ,
i have the impression that my engine heats up quickly
maybe it's normal, I only drive 25-30 km to work and then straight ahead at 90 km
after 15 min the engine sounds like the oil is bubbling with each throttle stroke the engine noise is not the same you hear piffff when you let off the gas (the oil must be cooling)
but it's weird to think I could drive 100km without stopping?
( oil change done last year )

i've had the 125xtx for 3 years, 8000km, no problems, low maintenance, good riding position, ideal for getting back into the swing of things (I haven't ridden a 125 for 15 years), and for the price, much cheaper than a two-stroke, even second-hand, I don't regret my purchase. the only small flaw is its top speed, but motorcycles are for leisurely rides, otherwise you'd have to buy a big cube. 03/20/2008 15:53 Rating : 5/5 Respond to eric

I've done 1800 KM with the YAM 125 XTX and I'm very happy with it. Its top speed is 105 km/h on the flat with no wind, but after all, it's only a 125. On the other hand, it's a real treat on small roads, where you can really have fun.

That's it, I'm on my XTX and it's a blast! especially where I live! Mayotte! the comfort is that of a super biker, the seat isn't a beam like on a ktm 640 but it's close, the handling is exemplary on dry and wet roads and I know what I'm talking about! the performance, I'm waiting for the end of the break-in! in any case, it's a real toy that fits in well with the superbiker's philosophy! the suspension is neither too soft nor too stiff! and the dashboard is a real treat that's no match for the non-existent competition in the 125 world!

just a word of advice for 125 xtx users. fit a devil silencer (magnun), the gain in torque is impressive, and the sound is much better than the original

Punker Model 2007

I bought this little XT, preferring it to the DT because it uses less fuel, even if it's a bit less peppy. I went through 110-115 the other day, though. It's true that in relation to the price, the delta with a big cube can make you think twice, but it's great for getting used to!

i'm an xt-r owner, i've finished the break-in period
and frankly I'm not disappointed. it's a beautiful bike
with a lot of torque, in town it's really great, and the same in the forest, it just shows its limits in top speed with 105 on the flat, but it's a trail bike, not a race bike

I'm going to buy this bike on Saturday from my dealer, and frankly, it's a real steal. Plus, even if the 4-stroke engine isn't as good as the 2-stroke (g a DTR), the maintenance, low price and feel shouldn't be overlooked. C'est vrai kil faudraitrai kil passe leurs 4T à 15cv se serait cool ms ms bon, ya tjs un bridage pot kon peut faire sauté ( attendre qd mm kel soit plus sous garantie sinon cette derniere saute si vous touche au pot ). I'll be riding it next week, and if you're into city riding, this bike is the best in its class, and there's no need to exceed 115km/h in town !!!!!
What's more, it doesn't consume a thing!
I'll let you know what it's worth!

Confort et suspensions ?

What will be the quality of the suspension?
Will it be as comfortable as Honda's XR125? With its 4T, Honda didn't see fit to fit a disc to the rear wheel, preferring instead a much better suspension, a thicker seat... and mixed tires! So it's fun to go off-road on occasion, but limited on asphalt (rear brake and tires with average grip). Let's not talk about wet roads: the dosage has to be cotton, the bends hum hum, what!
This YAM looks great. We'll have to see how the price compares with the Honda xr, and the riding position; apart from the rear brake, the Honda seems to me to be more versatile, but less typical, more "adventurous". 12/25/2004 16:58 Rating : 5/5 Respond to Marco

The yam isn't bad, but I think it's worth a try. I have a derbi 125 supermot and I find it super stiff, the braking is top notch with a 300mm diameter disc.
