presentation of the YZF-R1 1000 AGO special edition 2012
motorcycles aren't just for cruising or racing. With noble intentions and/or a prestigious signature, they can also perform acts of charity. This special R1 'AGO' is a case in point.
Like the R1 WGP 50th anniversary, its design is based on that of the first Yamaha grand prix bikes. More precisely, this R1 is faithful to the dress of the OW23, the machine that gave Agostini the 500 title in 1975.
The R1 'Ago' features a superb deco evoking the glory of a motorcycling god, two Akrapovic silencers, special parts and an AGV Ago replica helmet included in the package, and the signature of Giacomo himself on the tank. Best of all, it's a one-off for a good cause.
In 2010, there was already a similar operation for the 'Riders for health' association, where an R1 Rossi edition was auctioned off in Los Angeles. This time, it's happening in Sweden. The motorcycle will go on sale from February 12 to 26, 2012, at 3 p.m. on BVA-Automotive, the country's largest online auction site. The money raised will go to the Papageno Foundation, which provides music therapy for autistic children.
