presentation of the YZ 250 F 2019
The 2019 Yamaha YZ 250 F features a new engine design with electric starter, new cylinder head, new piston, optimized camshaft profile, new cylinder geometry and larger diameter clutch.lectric starter, new cylinder head, new piston, optimized camshaft profile, new cylinder geometry, larger-diameter clutch.... offering more power at medium and high revs.
its bilateral-beam frame has been completely redesigned. The position of the engine has been modified to improve the machine's rigidity, guaranteeing better grip in bends and higher traction. The new trim and improved ergonomics offer a more compact design that allows the rider to become one with the machine. The KYB suspension features optimized internal components for an optimum balance between comfort and performance.
what's more, the all-new 2019 YZ 250 F also comes standard with a Communication Control Unit (CCU).control unit (CCU, Communication Control Unit), enabling riders to connect wirelessly to their motorcycle and set it up according to their preferences. All they need is a smartphone and the Yamaha Power Tuner app.
a new engine
for 2019, Yamaha has reworked the YZ 250 F's characteristic rearward-slanting single-cylinder design. The liquid-cooled, dual overhead cam, four-valve fuel-injected engine features a front-mounted downward intake with symmetrical intake and exhaust pipes. Fuel is supplied by a lighter 44 mm throttle body, and passes through a new 12-nozzle Denso injector.
a new forged piston with a flat head and higher compression offers greater durability and lightness. The DLC piston, rings and pin, together with the cylinder's offset configuration, reduce pressure drop and contribute to faster response. The YZ 250 F's lighter, straighter cylinder, new intake pipes, cam profiles, high-strength connecting rod and optimized crankshaft and rocker arm design all contribute to higher mid- and high-rpm power, smooth power delivery and exceptional reliability.
the transmission and clutch have been restructured for a more direct connection and improved durability. The transmission ratios are the same as those of the previous model, but the gears are now made from a new alloy offering greater shock resistance. As a result of this increased strength, the teeth can be thinner, reducing weight and enabling a more compact design. The YZ 250 F's clutch system features friction discs that are now 1.6 mm thick. The increased thickness enabled our engineers to reduce the number of discs to eight.
radiators and exhaust have also been modified to improve performance and weight distribution. The radiators have been enlarged and orientated directly towards the incoming airflow to improve cooling in the toughest racing conditions. The innovative design of the wrap-around exhaust improves mass concentration and power accumulation. Its geometry has also been redesigned for 2019. In this configuration, the rear of the muffler has been moved forward and the silencer has been moved closer to the center of mass.
first serial Power Tuner application for 250cc models
the 2019 YZ 250 F is the world's first mass-produced motocross bike equipped with a smartphone-based engine tuning system. Thanks to the Power Tuner app, it becomes a matter of course to choose the exact power profile for optimum results on every track.
by connecting to the Communication Control Unit (CCU), pilots and technicians can instantly adjust the air/fuel mixthe air/fuel mixture and ignition timing map to optimize engine performance, record race information and monitor a whole range of data, such as enginedata, such as coolant temperature, air intake temperature, air pressure, battery status, as well as maintenance-related data such as total uptime.
the Power Tuner app, launched for the first time with the 2018 YZ 450 F, allows users to modify engine mapping in greater detail than before. It also allows users to share settings within a team or group of friends (along with other information), providing a tool that facilitates communication.
switchable two-mode engine mapping
dual-mode engine mapping allows the rider to adjust engine performance at the touch of a button, making it easy to tune the YZ 250 F for changing track or weather conditions.
new lightweight electric starter
thanks to the 2019 YZ 250 F's compact starter and ultra-light lithium-ion battery, starting has never been so quick. Powered by a high-capacity, ultra-light lithium-ion battery, the system adds minimal weight.
new frame and optimized ergonomics
the compact frame of the 2019 YZ 250 F is completely new, making this Yamaha one of the best-handling machines in its class. The all-new compact double-beam frame adopts a modified upper frame and redesigned rear spars. The area around the swingarm axis and the new engine mounts have been redesigned with the same objective in mind: better mass centralization and increased rigidity in the vertical, horizontal and lateral axes, for a perfect balance between precision in corners and stability in a straight line.
in short, the new frame improves grip and offers the best possible balance between shock-absorbing rigidity and cornering flexibility.
new compact frame and seat design
the completely redesigned chassis of the 2019 YZ 250 F is clad in a lighter, more compact plastic kit.the radiator covers incorporate a new, narrower, concave-shaped air intake, which not only improves styling, but also offers more comfortable knee support and facilitates rider movement.the seat height has been reduced by 8 mm at the front and by almost 20 mm at the rear, giving the rider better manoeuvrability on the bike.
easily adjustable KYB coil-spring suspension
the KYB coil-spring fork is fully adjustable, and has benefited from improvedtions, larger pistons and newly designed fork/pin mounts to deliver an exceptional balance of handling and shock absorption. The KYB shock absorber has also been improved. The fuel tank capacity has been increased by 30 cm³ to enhance rebound control during long rides.
lighter wheels
careful computer-aided refinement of the EXCEL rim cross-section profile significantly reduces unsprung weight without sacrificing durability. Stiffer wheel spacers improve braking feel and traction.

I have a problem with my 2017 YZF 250 motorcycle. It's been two times that I ride without problem a good part of the day and it dies when I fall and impossible to restart it.
I changed the spark plug, it was white and it did not change anything....
thank you Rating : 5/5 Respond to Goderre
for the rest it's expensive and not necessarily useful a line if you want to increase performance a little and the look counts in the 700â'¬ the line see more if you take in titanium and carbon end,
ignition in the 650â'¬ range etc etc ... Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
