presentation of the KX 250 2019

As Kawa brought its share of evolutions to the 250 KX in 2018, the 2019 millesime brings only graphical changes. The MX2 cross therefore builds on its heritage from last year, which is far from the worst. Let's see again:
component modifications and fork adjustments are accompanied by shock absorber tweaks for better shock absorption and optimized operation.

engine evolution was the top priority. With the ultimate goal of reduced rev times - the emphasis is on optimizing acceleration at the start - the KX 250 sees changes to the intake design and features a new exhaust system.

with new injection settings, fuel pump pressure has been increased, the injector mounting angle is less open, and the throttle body has been shortened. The result is a reduced compression ratio of 13.4:1, as well as increased power and torque.

the redesigned exhaust is both longer and wider, contributing to a double benefit: extra power and torque. The result? Improved low- and mid-range feel, which enhances power delivery across the entire range and enables better control of high revs.

with more controllable power and torque, the KX 250 promises to be the MX2 benchmark and holeshot queen.

key points of the KX 250 F 2018 / 2019 :

- The aluminum perimeter frame is narrower between the main beams and features revised stiffness for improved front-end feel.

- The high-performance piston (inspired by those used in racing) features a new design, optimized stiffness and reduced weight.

- Thanks to their adjustable plate, the footrests can be lowered by 5 mm; by lowering the center of gravity and line of vision, this position enhances physical and psychological stability.

- The SFF type 2 fork separates the damping functions in the left-hand tube from the spring functions in the right-hand tube. The 48 mm-diameter tubes and the organization of the internal elements improve riding comfort, front-end feel, reduce heel-toeing and improve stability when landing jumps or grabbing the brakes.
Since 2018, the revised settings have improved braking and cornering stability.

- A "Super-hard" titanium surface treatment (unique in this category) prevents fork wear. A self-lubricating alumite treatment provides a resistant surface that generates little friction on the outer face of the tube, allowing the fork to run smoothly.

- The original settings of the three maps are: Standard, Hard and Soft. using the DFI plugs supplied, the rider can easily switch from one map to another to adapt the settings to riding conditions.

- The 270 mm front disc delivers impressive braking power while remaining controllable. The petal-shaped brake discs also contribute to the overall impression of quality and sporty looks.

- The ECU has been entirely designed to meet the needs of Motocross racing. The ECU contains 3 engine maps (plus a fourth which governs Launch Control).
The settings of these 3 maps can be easily adjusted using the optional KX FI injection calibration tool.

- The use of dual injectors on the KX 250 is one of the keys to the efficiency of the air-fuel mixture. The engine, optimized for performance, revs up very easily and is complemented by very rapid response. For 2018, the acceleration of the gas mixture thanks to the adoption of a more vertical intake and the reduction of mechanical losses improve engine efficiency.

- The balancer system is mounted under the swingarm for more precise suspension adjustment. Dual compression adjustment offers a wide range of optional settings. The cartridge's Kashima surface treatment improves operation.
Since 2018, the KX 250 features a new, lightened spring and revised settings for improved feel and optimized rear-wheel feedback.

- The KX 250 benefits from a launch-assist device called "Launch Control", very similar to that on factory KXs. At the touch of a button, the rider can activate a separate engine map, multiplying the chances of a good start in slippery conditions.

- All-new, minimalist plastics incorporate reoriented radiators, even slimmer scoops, a flatter seat and fuel tank, and a seamless, smoother saddle for easier rider movement.

- On the top tee, two bridge attachment positions and reversible bridges offer four handlebar adjustments: 25 mm forward, 15 mm forward, normal and 10 mm back.

- The new plastic design makes the bike even more visually compact and perfectly respects the style of factory bikes. The plastics are now adorned with molded graphics, the aluminum rims are black, the fork protectors are also black, and touches of green embellish the whole machine.

There's one thing I don't get: why do manufacturers manage to get 50hp out of a 250cc 4-stroke on a cross-country bike and only 30hp out of a tourer with the same engine?! So where there's a will, there's a way! Come on, let's go back, there's still a long way to go! Rating : 5/5

Already a superb bike in previous years, this new vintage (hydraulic clutch, electric starter, chassis...) is really top-notch! The plus is the price! The cheapest on the market!
All that's missing is the homologated version ;)

Good evening I saw that you also have like me a 250 kxf year 2015 that I just acquired and I just had a few small questions about it if possible, at the level of engine oil filling after the oil change is well 0.80L (when the filter is removed)? and is there as in some other motorcycle a strainer and a screen to change? I do not remember the exact therme. Merci et bonne soirée Rating : 5/5
gaffe au SAV Kaxasaki
French loop out Model 2013
after less than four hours of operation, the engine started to make a lot of noise. after dismantling, it turned out that the vilo had a mounting fault (too tight), so everything had to be changed, and some material had gone back into the cylinder. after a 1500-euro charge, kawa's after-sales service refused to help in any way, despite the advice of two kawa dealers 500 kms apart... -4 for kawa, reputed for its third-rate after-sales service, which confirms its shitty reputation. the bike works very well, but beware of breakage. i ride cross-country and i'm 50...
