following in the footsteps of the R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS Adventure, the F 800 GS now gets a Triple Black version. This rocky trail bike is all about black, with a name that sounds like a special series. Not really... and while the first Triple Black in 2010 was enriched by a number of features in addition to its dark hue (3D logo on the saddle, special wheels, premium pack...), this F 800 GS adds nothing more than another color. It's hard to justify the extra 300 euros charged for this Triple Black. Next to it, the Trophy series is frankly more exciting.

the F 800 GS tends towards a more "all-terrain" profile than its siblings. It leaves the 1200 to cater for long-distance riders, and the 650 for the more urban side of things. The GS is more about having fun on the trails, and its profile is unmistakable: all-terrain tires on spoked rims combined with good ground clearance... It's a great way to get out and about among the rocks, without taking a trekking approach.
