presentation of the SSR 1000 2006
with these 2 new models, Boxer continues to amaze us with its creations. A little jewel from Thierry Henriette's workshops, the SSR is both a superb sports bike and a fine roadster - you don't need to have both, as one can be transformed into the other: in 1 hour and 2 turns of the hand, you can drop the fairing, fit the passenger equipment, attach radiator scoops and a windscreen. And Abracadabra, here's the SS sports car transformed into an R roadster.
it's hard to resist the charms of these machines and their attractive peripherals: Brembo brakes and radial controls, Öhlins suspension, carbon components, beautiful parts at every level (the rev counter alone is a little marvel) and mechanical peculiarities. The swingarm doubles as an oil reservoir (as on the Buell) and battery holder. Large (and very well integrated) plenum chambers under the engine allow megaphone-style exhausts, as seen on MotoGP machines. The frame is a minimalist trellis fixed to aluminum plates, contributing to the Boxer's sleek appearance while keeping weight to a minimum, under 180 kg.
the small French manufacturer has not yet decided on the engine. It will either be the Voxan V2, increased to 130 hp, or theAprilia RSV 1000 R engine with 139 bhp.
If the price manages to stay within the announced range of €14,000 to €15,000, the SSR could become a devilishly tempting machine.

All that's missing is the marketing Rating : 5/5 Respond to gate
What more can I say than the other comments? Simply magnificent...now what about the engine? Personally, I'd lean more towards the Italian, having already owned a bike with the same type of engine. Now it's up to the designer to guide us in our choice. The last question: I've put aside 15,000euros, when can I spend it?

i'll take only one thing from these comments: we absolutely must encourage this kind of initiative by French designers who think outside the box. Rating : 5/5 Respond to jolitorax5
Voxan would do better to join forces with Boxer for good, they'd come out with nicer bikes than their Joe Bar Team replica..
they've got charm, but they're still missing THE cool sportbike... Rating : 5/5 Respond to Bruno
If it sells for 15,000 euros, it'll be the next big thing, and I'll take 2 or 3 of them before they run out of stock Rating : 5/5 Respond to tomducat
One of the most beautiful motorcycle creations in a very long time. Simply splendid!
Whether with a voaxan engine or the aprilia v60, I'm sure it has a great future. The only downside is that it's not made for two-up riding. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Osmi
My hat's off to you, though, because she's a real beauty! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Darkrider
I can only recommend to build the SSR, and build it as close to the study as possible! Bothe machines are marvellous, exciting, desirable!
And you should sell them also in Germany!
Mike the bike Rating : 5/5 Respond to mikethebik
but if you have to change the rims and calipers every time you transform it (not the same color), one hour is the time it takes with a team!
if it comes out at 15,000 euros, screw it, I'll go into debt and take it! Rating : 5/5 Respond to pablito
And if it costs €15,000..
Where do I sign???
When will it be available and where can I buy it? Rating : 5/5 Respond to Pasdbol
I reckon it'll cost more than 15,000 euros. Rating : 5/5 Respond to thomas

I was frankly beginning to doubt that I'd ever find a bike that would please me more than my Ducati 996, but faced with this assembly of parts, each more marvellous than the last, I can only say one thing: when will it be on the market? ??????? Rating : 5/5 Respond to akra
If it comes out with a Voxan engine and a contained price, I'm ready to sell my TNT and write a check Rating : 5/5 Respond to yvan
