presentation of the CB 600 F HORNET 2012

13 years. It's taken all this time for the Hornet to find, adopt and integrate its true face; or rather, a face whose identity truly corresponds to the nickname Honda gave it. It's undeniable, it's stylish, it's insectivorous, and it's obvious. Even those who know nothing about bikes express their first impression of the 2011 CB 600 F as follows: " This bike looks like a hornet! "And what does Hornet mean in English, mmmmm....?

however, the original idea behind the 2011-2012 Hornet was to reshape its face to more closely resemble that of its CB 1000 R big brother. It's true that the inspiration is as undeniable as it is subtle, but the designer left his pencil slightly drifted so that the fork head adopted a more blatant design. All it needs are mandibles to eat the unwary alive.
As long as the CB 1000 R doesn't say anything, we'll steal a few styling ideas from it. So be it, and the dashboard evolves in this spirit, seeing itself completely redesigned, with an all-digital instrument panel. The rear end, which was highly controversial at the time of its launch, has become much more incisive, with a new LED taillight at the end of the sting.

redesigned by Boxer Design, Wakisashi version, R version, adoption of an inverted fork ine fork in 2005, and a 2007 CBR 600 engine for its major upgrade the same year, Honda's flagship roadster has evolved considerably since its birth in 1998. And yet, it remains astonishingly faithful to its original technical principle: a 600 sportbike engine, enhanced by a monobackbone frame with Diamond architecture. Let's put things into perspective: the elements chosen have changed quite a bit, especially in 2007. That's when the frame swapped steel for aluminum. The inverted fork had already been there since 2005. Faithful to the CBR's 4-cylinder engine, the CB 600 F surprised everyone with this choice. Indeed, scalded by the success of the Z 750, all Japanese medium-displacement roadsters have moved up to the next cubic level. In 2011, the Hornet will be the only Japanese model to unabashedly display 600 cm3. This engine doesn't disappoint, quite the contrary. Lively and eager to rev, it gives this mid-size streetfighter just the right amount of pep. On the other hand, the Yamaha FZ8, Kawasaki Z 750 and Suzuki 750 GSR all have extra torque.

Honda CB 600 F HORNET 2012 - 1Honda CB 600 F HORNET 2012 - 1

beneath its CB-1000-ized exterior, the Hornet renews its confidence in its tried-and-tested values. Namely, a 102 hp engine block held in place by a discreet aluminum frame, two 296 mm brake discs that can be backed up by combined ABS, a 41 mm upside-down fork but no radial brake calipers. A list of options gives you a certain level of customization. The main thing is the Hornet's ease of use and first-rate enjoyment, which should remain very similar, if not identical, for this new vintage.

First of all, I bought this jewel second-hand, and after a Honda tune-up (thanks to DIABOLIQ BIKE - St Mitres 13), it's really a bike I bought, but I went to the wrong store, Honda instead of Déca… just kidding.
In my youth, I competed in motorcycle speed races, and what a joy it was to find this fabulous, smooth, powerful and easy-to-use hornet! I got carried away and forgot the reason for my request, I bought this jewel but I don't have the instruction manual!
I found and downloaded the one for the 2009 model, but there are a few changes compared to the 2013 model but of no great importance except for the digital dashboard. If someone could send me the extract of the manual concerning this one, I would be the happiest biker. Thank you HONDA and all its lucky owners.

I have a 2013 Honda CB 600 FA Hornet that I bought used and I don't have the manual. I know this isn't the place to ask for help, but I'll try just in case!
I've downloaded one that's almost exactly the same except for the dashboard
I apologize for the inconvenience and thank you in advance if you have any tips

I've had this bike for a few days now, and it's finally a bike that suits me to a T!

It has everything to please me, having started out with an FZ6, then a Gladius, and now back to a 4-cylinder.
I wanted a bike that handled well and had a lively engine. I ended up with a bike equipped with an explosive 600cc3.
I'm small and light, and this is the first bike where I feel so confident, light, easy to handle, responsive, and the braking is powerful. This bike inspires confidence!
Maybe not as a first bike, because once you hit the throttle, things get out of control very quickly (but then again, with license restrictions now ... ) and I think you need a minimum of awareness and experience to ride this Hornet with complete peace of mind.

I wanted to go for a CB1000r, but this Hornet convinced me just as much. Honda has brought us two very good bikes (among so many others?) and I know that with Honda's reliability I can rest easy.

If you're tempted, don't hesitate to try it out, but if you do, be sure to have the money to spare, because you're guaranteed to fall in love!

A pure delight!

Many thanks HONDA!

My first bike in almost a year, an exceptional chassis, much better than the er6 or xj6 from my motorcycle school (which I really liked). It's true that for sporty riding, you have to knit quite a bit to get into the revs and compensate for the lack of torque. But is it made for that? I don't think so... I try to ride it in all weathers, and it suits me perfectly, smooth and mean on demand, it buzzes at low revs, roars in the revs and is very forgiving... ideal for beginners, even if it doesn't have that first-bike label. I recommend it to bikers who, like me, are looking for multiple sensations without going to extremes, and who above all want to get home alive and, if possible, on their feet. Rating : 5/5
Pas déçu !!
French Cams64 Model 2013
I've had it for 1 year now, and I haven't regretted my purchase for a moment. As much as some will say that the displacement is a bit small compared to the competition, even though once you get past 8,000 rpm the whats happen, the chassis is really top-notch, unflappable when cornering. When relaunching against higher displacement bikes, I'm forced to drop 1 or 2 gears, but once on a twisty track, I can hold my own against quite a few other bikes.
Not to mention the top-notch finish, of which I'm very proud

Very good bike. The desing isn't too sharp like the Kawas, while still retaining the speed aspect.
It's got plenty of pep and finds a second wind between 700 and 800 rpm.
Very reliable transmission. No flutter in the controls.
And Honda is still the best engine manufacturer in the world!
The duo is its strong point, but it's enough to tide us over, like many roadsters and sportbikes after all. I also regret that the rear-view mirrors are too short.
Finally, I think the Honda Hornet is the best roadster in its class (600cm3).

25000km in one year with this bike, nothing to complain about...the lack of visibility from the rear with these little mirrors...that's honda quality. Rating : 4/5

for the mirrors I solved the problem in the following way:
1 fellow welder
2 cut the rods then added a 15 cm extension tube
the result is perfect and rear visibility excellent
Before proposing ABS and all these electronic options, he should stick to the basics...

A superb bike, the Hornet is perfect for the daily commuter with friends, possibly on a circuit, very maneuverable in town, a real moped, as powerful as you want it to be when you hit over 8000 RPM, very good braking with the C-ABS, and nothing to criticize about the bike itself, which is a little gem for its price! However, beware of tall people... If you're over 1M80~85, steer clear of this bike, which will end up breaking your back, as the riding position is quite sporty. Personally (1M93), I've decided to part with it, much to my regret, in favor of a more spacious model... Trail obliges... for the others, go for it! For reasonable beginners, I highly recommend it, as it's so progressive and smooth throughout its rev range! Rating : 5/5

Top marks for this sporty roadster, capable of real sporting performance thanks to the quality of its engine and chassis, both top-notch. For a 600cm3 4-cylinder, it's hard to beat its efficiency, and even a certain roundness that makes everyday riding easier. If, for the same power, you don't like the two-faced 4-cylinder of the gsr600 (a great bike!) and even the fzs600, you'll prefer this hornet, still civilized and well finished. What's more, when it comes to new 4-cylinder 600 sportbikes, there's not much choice. It's as if it were the last of the Mohicans (there's still the xj6 and the cbf600, but they're not as powerful). Reserved for those who still prefer the sportiness of the 600cm3 to the 750 or 800cm3, for a bike that's no less rewarding in the end. Rating : 5/5
