presentation of the CB 600 F HORNET WAKIZASHI 2006
this blade is a Wakizashi, the "little sword" that accompanies the Samurai. Honda has adopted the name and philosophy of this weapon to sharpen its famous roadster. Why the Wakizashi? For "its refined aesthetic, its thin, protruding blade and its distinctive blend of different materials". Bower Design were responsible for the makeover. Doesn't that ring a bell? Yes, they're the ones who made the VB1, the SV 1000 special edition, the R1 Steel Fighter... and very recently the magnificent SSR 1000.
the latest-generation 600 Hornet 's little transformation is as follows: an imitation-carbon "wakizashi" engine cover, 2 aluminum-textured radiator scoops embellished with Japanese symbols, and a little sticker to complete the package above the dashboard. This limited edition is sold at the same price as the 600 Hornet 06, i.e. €6,990... The kit isn't free, however, as the Wakizashi are vintage 05 Hornets, available in blue, black, silver and orange.
A bit of Japanese culture: "The katana is the large sword (it carries the soul of the samurai), the Wakizashi is conversely the small sword, which was the samurai's "blade of honor", always attached to one side and always within reach. Finally, the Tanto is the small dagger (used when the Samurai had to perform seppeku or hara-kiri)". Honda info.

Bikers' reviews Leave a review - 44 reviews
16 years later, I've finally bought myself this little joy: torquey, pleasant, charming and with a sound that doesn't falter in the face of the competition... many of our young bikers today are moving on to more recent models (mt07/09, triumph etc.) despite being 16 years old, this bike never goes out of fashion and is giving a lot of trouble to its very young competitors on the market. This bike will end its life with me, if it's not me who goes before it, because it's so reliable.. Rating : 5/5 Participate in the conversation
Honestly, I've tried and owned loads of midsize roadsters, and only a street triple r (and even then) or a brutale gave me more thrills.
My model has reached 60000km, breathes like the first day and, according to the mechanic, can easily reach 200000km, incredible!
In addition to its superb reputation as an indestructible bike, the chassis is excellent. And it's more than up to the task for a muscular roadster. It's even better than all the Honda models that have replaced it. Not to mention its carbureted engine, without the original catalytic converter, but with a pot the sound is breathtaking! It screams, it sings, it's raucous as can be, and its backfire is non-stop...
For braking, you'll need to fit aviation hoses, and the bite is just right.
For tires, you need sport tires, like the d211 or sportmart TT, and then the fear stripes disappear completely, and the knee sliders will burn by the hundreds...
A future collector, easy, reliable, incisive, stable and with an engine packed with feeling for a 600cc 4-cylinder. Unbeatable value for money and fun! You absolutely need the 2005 or 2006 vintage to get all the qualities of this bike. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Thoms
Just lacks some bite under braking Rating : 5/5 Respond to zaeza
voila and long live the 600!!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Wayne77
very surprised by the difference in handling! and the gearbox layout is no longer the same, with the 2003 it was 1st up to 110 and second up to 160! too long in short, now it's better that way! still great braking! and especially despite the fact that I was used to my r6, well I had a blast on the small roads! however you'll never eat a 600rr with one tooth missing as written above ... great bike the hornet voila Rating : 5/5 Respond to Cajun
i can't wait to try out my toy on dry roads... And if you've got the money to spend before the holidays, don't hesitate to snap up this model if it's still available.... You won't be disappointed... Rating : 5/5 Respond to François
Hello Hornetman and woman! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Taï Taï
Simply brilliant!!!
It handles great, looks great and is powerful! I love it, but I find it powerful for a beginner's bike (unless it's bridled)
I can't wait to get back on it every time I ride it..
Vive la hornet et vive son moteur de sportive
But be careful! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Rach
Nothing to say, this new Hornet is magnificent!!!!!
I've finally found my first bike, I can't wait, I'm going to count every day for 4 years before I have this beauty between my legs. Rating : 5/5 Respond to nounoune
you can ride as much as you can attack, if you push really hard you'll reach the limit of the cycle part, but there's a really big margin to surpass that's useless to reach. taking the time to ride quietly becomes pleasant in beautiful places in the long run
greetings hornets Rating : 5/5 Respond to Tyro
salut a tous et soyer prudent Rating : 5/5 Respond to hunkel
i had a sdb tooth fall out and now it's a real kick to accelerate
i'm on a 600cbr at my top speed, and it just passes me by. I'm not even talking about gsxf and bandit, and I'm very close to the z1000..

To all those who hesitate, go for it guys!!!!
There's nothing to say, it's a Honda
The gear selector seems to have a shorter travel than on older models, and it's very pleasant. The fork is a marvel, both in terms of efficiency and aesthetics
The mapping seems to have been revised, and you feel more torque at the bottom than before. And don't worry, it's not at the expense of the adrenalin rush you always feel above 8,000 rpm
In short, it's the bomb! Rating : 5/5 Respond to julien
and my next bike Rating : 5/5 Respond to popo
hornet...frelon...aï...VROUMMM!!!
beautiful machine!
you said it all, so here's my next ride!
no coment...! Rating : 5/5 Respond to tom et lae
I've had it for 3 days now, and it's my first bike, so I'm not disappointed. And it's a great evolution in terms of looks! Even discreet in black, it stands out. Come on, girls, get on your bikes. Rating : 5/5 Respond to Shirley
there are no photos between the two!!!
The Z750 has a hum at 7000rpm that is most unpleasant while the Hornet is an example of comfort at this level!
As for performance, it's true that the 750 is a quarter of a hair ahead, but then you have to look at the rider on both machines!
In any case, for the same price there's a 2005 model and a 2004 (or even a 2003 if the 750 is red), so if you choose....the resale will be easier with a Hornet
But to each his own, I can confirm that the 2005 Frelon is an EXCEPTIONAL machine!
On that note, bon route to all and no nonsense!!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to Julien du
Too bad, and the 600cbf doesn't look as nice, so it'll probably be the new bandit, which already looks aggressive enough. Rating : 5/5 Respond to JP
