presentation of the CB 600 F HORNET 2013
13 years. It's taken all this time for the Hornet to find, adopt and integrate its true face; or rather, a face whose identity truly corresponds to the nickname Honda gave it. It's undeniable, it's stylish, it's insectivorous, and it's obvious. Even those who know nothing about bikes express their first impression of the CB 600 F 2011 / 2013 as follows: " This bike looks like a hornet! "And what does Hornet mean in English, mmmmm....?
however, the original idea behind the 2011-2013 Hornet was to reshape its face to better match that of the big brother CB 1000 R. It's true that the inspiration is as undeniable as it is subtle, but the designer let his pencil drift a little so that the fork head adopts a more blatant design. All it needs are mandibles to eat the unwary alive.
As long as the CB 1000 R doesn't say anything, we'll steal a few styling ideas from it. So be it, and the dashboard evolves in this spirit, seeing itself completely redesigned, with an all-digital instrument panel. The rear end, which was highly controversial at the time of its launch, has become much more incisive, with a new LED taillight at the end of the sting.
redesigned by Boxer Design, Wakisashi version, R version, adoption of an inverted fork ine fork in 2005, and a 2007 CBR 600 engine for its major upgrade the same year, Honda's flagship roadster has evolved considerably since its birth in 1998. And yet, it remains astonishingly faithful to its original technical principle: a 600 sportbike engine, enhanced by a monobackbone frame with Diamond architecture. Let's put things into perspective: the elements chosen have changed quite a bit, especially in 2007. That's when the frame swapped steel for aluminum. The inverted fork had already been there since 2005. Faithful to the CBR's 4-cylinder engine, the CB 600 F surprised everyone with this choice. Indeed, scalded by the success of the Z 750, all Japanese medium-displacement roadsters have moved up to the next cubic level. In 2011, the Hornet will be the only Japanese model to unabashedly display 600 cm3. This engine doesn't disappoint, quite the contrary. Lively and eager to rev, it gives this mid-size streetfighter just the right amount of pep. On the other hand, the Yamaha FZ8, Kawasaki Z 800 and Suzuki 750 GSR all have extra torque.
beneath its CB-1000-ized exterior, the Hornet renews its confidence in its tried-and-tested values. Namely, a 102 hp engine block held in place by a discreet aluminum frame, two 296 mm brake discs that can be backed up by combined ABS, a 41 mm upside-down fork but no radial calipers. A list of options gives you a certain level of customization. But the Hornet's ease of use and first-rate ride quality are what really matter.

In my youth, I competed in motorcycle speed races, and what a joy it was to find this fabulous, smooth, powerful and easy-to-use hornet! I got carried away and forgot the reason for my request, I bought this jewel but I don't have the instruction manual!
I found and downloaded the one for the 2009 model, but there are a few changes compared to the 2013 model but of no great importance except for the digital dashboard. If someone could send me the extract of the manual concerning this one, I would be the happiest biker. Thank you HONDA and all its lucky owners.

I've downloaded one that's almost exactly the same except for the dashboard
I apologize for the inconvenience and thank you in advance if you have any tips Rating : 5/5 Respond to Roland
It has everything to please me, having started out with an FZ6, then a Gladius, and now back to a 4-cylinder.
I wanted a bike that handled well and had a lively engine. I ended up with a bike equipped with an explosive 600cc3.
I'm small and light, and this is the first bike where I feel so confident, light, easy to handle, responsive, and the braking is powerful. This bike inspires confidence!
Maybe not as a first bike, because once you hit the throttle, things get out of control very quickly (but then again, with license restrictions now ... ) and I think you need a minimum of awareness and experience to ride this Hornet with complete peace of mind.
I wanted to go for a CB1000r, but this Hornet convinced me just as much. Honda has brought us two very good bikes (among so many others?) and I know that with Honda's reliability I can rest easy.
If you're tempted, don't hesitate to try it out, but if you do, be sure to have the money to spare, because you're guaranteed to fall in love!
A pure delight!

Not to mention the top-notch finish, of which I'm very proud Rating : 5/5 Respond to Cams64
It's got plenty of pep and finds a second wind between 700 and 800 rpm.
Very reliable transmission. No flutter in the controls.
And Honda is still the best engine manufacturer in the world!
The duo is its strong point, but it's enough to tide us over, like many roadsters and sportbikes after all. I also regret that the rear-view mirrors are too short.
Finally, I think the Honda Hornet is the best roadster in its class (600cm3).
