presentation of the 600 SPEED FOUR 2006
When it comes to selecting a machine with character, roadster enthusiasts are quick to cite the Speed Triple. There's no denying it: the machine has a real mouth on it, and all the elements of the Daytona to make it a real pleasure to ride. Encouraged by this success, Triumph used the same recipe to create a bubbly new roadster: the Speed Four.
Based on a TT 600, it loses its fairing and gains a new electronic management system. With its bare mechanics, flashy colors, forced air intakes and distinctive twin headlights, this little brute does everything it can to get noticed. This is essential in this fiercely contested segment. The Suzuki SV 650, the Yamaha Fazer and the Honda 600 Hornet all need to have their weapons ready.
The aesthetics entice, the engine seduces. Reworked to offer more mid-range gniak, the TT 's block is much more pleasant in its new setting. Demonstrative, with supersport allonge and much fuller than the pistarde's, the British 4-cylinder gives the machine serious drive. The 600 TT 's exacerbating low-speed hollowing has finally been eliminated. Lacking on the first-generation British supersport, this mill is now usable over a wide rpm range: from 6500 rpm to the red zone.
The chassis is just right for this potential. With a chassis identical to that of the TT and a featherweight of 170 kgs, the bike is as efficient as it is safe. Extremely stable, the Speed Four's handling is beyond reproach. Braking is not lacking in power, but a hint of progressiveness. As for the rider, he'll have to contend with a sporty position induced by the height of the footrests and the position of the half-guidelines. There's nothing prohibitive about this, especially as flat handlebars are available as an option. The equipment is worthy of a sports bike, but the finish needs to improve.
Hinckley's little moth isn't cheap - it's entering a market largely dominated by more affordable roadsters - but its wicked design and boiling-hot performance are enough to turn heads.

A different look that disturbs some people, an engine that's a bit hollow at the bottom, with some knocking at 3000rpm, but beyond that, it's top-notch! It has the luxury of being comfortable despite its sporty stance! I'm 1m80 tall and I'm starting to feel uncomfortable after a good hour's ride! The original seat is comfortable too, and the straps are no problem. The duo is possible without worry, but it's only a 600 and the passenger makes himself felt after a while; it's apparently comfort for the sds!
It's very stable and gives you confidence in corners!
Top speed: no idea. Fuel consumption: the reserve usually comes on at around 200km. Record 260km but I was hot :)
All in all, a great beaker like no other I have the impression!
I've tried a lot of bikes, and this one really has a soul of its own, and you get really attached to it!
Given the price it costs now, it's better to take this than a bandit or hornet.
Rating : 4/5 Respond to Max
the chassis is as stiff as you want it to be, and as confidence-building as you need it to be... the brakes are biting and long-lasting, with a good feel and never any surprises...
in fact, the only thing that bothers me about this bike is that the rigorous speed limits I try to respect as best I can are all too quickly exceeded with incredible ease and safety..
and as the old biker donfiste used to say, i'd rather see my sister in the brothel than my brother on a honda ;) mdr!!!! Rating : 5/5 Respond to barjoe
