presentation of the GSX-R 1000 R Origins 2018

Suzuki likes to cultivate the image of its most famous icon: the GSX-R. Especially that of the very first, the mother of modern sports bikes, the beacon of a generation: the 750 of 1985. That year, when Marty McFly went back in time to return to the future, the stopwatch went into overdrive, and it's this memory that the brand continues to perpetuate here. For this very special GSX-R 1000 R, vintage colors are combined with a wealth of equipment. The name also wants to be trendy. So make way for track fury with this Suzuki GSX-R 1000 R "ORIGINS".

A sports brand rather than an appellation. Taking over from the senatorial noun "Anniversaries". Like its predecessor, the"30th Anniversary". And yet, despite the years and the versions, we never tire of this very kitsch, very teenager, audio cassette and Super with lead decoration. There's an impeccable mimicry between the original and the latest descendant adorned here. It's all there, the charm, the azure lines, the white, the road crunched by the teeth - except for the little grain of impertinence that's missing: how welcome it would have been to adopt a blue saddle and a metal-grey frame, as before, as in the old days...

Suzuki France has taken great care with presentation. Appearance counts, details a lot, and there's a lot of demand for parts to look good these days. In 1985, you wanted a pot, some nasty camshafts, a Ricard and a fag. This time, we're still waiting for a pot, but alongside it, some decorative pieces, a bit of precious material, guava juice and an electronic taf.
Workshops adapt. The GSX-R 1000 Origins comes with plenty to please. A beautiful Yosh exhaust system....... Uh, no, a carbon Akrapovic. The Slovenian brand knows its stuff and will put a smile on anyone's face. As she likes to tease, Madame les watts also packs a nice set of racing and flashing parts:

Suzuki GSX-R 1000 R Origins 2018 - 1Suzuki GSX-R 1000 R Origins 2018 - 1

- Adjustable racing footrests
- Aluminum plate holder
- Double-curved windscreen
- Passenger seat cover
- Carbon front air intakes
- Carbon side covers
- Numbered plate
- Adjustable brake and clutch levers
- Aluminum/teflon lever guards
- Anodized aluminum chain tensioner
- Anodized aluminum oil cap
- GSX-R tank protector
- GSX-R valve caps
- Workshop stand + diabolos
- GSX-R cover

And where are the original parts? Right next door, in a large wooden crate that Suz has also numbered.
What do you mean? Is the number of copies limited? Yes, 33 to be exact. The number of years separating the two heroines of this chapter. Each GSX-R 1000 R Origins will display its number in the series on a plate affixed to the tank.
One slight worry: the price has jumped. This mix of exclusivity and nostalgia is expensive. However, once the engine is in action, wallet fever won't rise as quickly as the adrenalin. Because underneath the 80s dress, it's a powder keg that never slumbers. The legend takes just enough time to clean up before exploding yet another stopwatch.

* Why this hesitant Yosh? Because most of Suzuki's special-series models are equipped with Yoshimura, the historic partner.

Already almost a year with this beautiful preparation and nothing to say about my choice for this 1000 gsxr Origins limited 2018.it's easy to use on a daily basis and with the on-board electronics there are no nasty surprises. A look that still attracts with its GSXR letters, just like the brand's older models. Even motorists appreciate the aesthetics of this bike, with its vintage 1985 paintwork, and this Origins Limited has been a TOP performer for 33 years of GSXR riding! SUZUK . Rating : 5/5

You know nothing about it. It's a superb bike, and there are only 33 of them in France. You must be the kind of motorcyclist who rides a Harley because it's so flashy. Rating : 5/5
