presentation of the 955i DAYTONA 2005

triumph showed off its new Daytona 955 '04 at the Paris Motor Show. Few changes for this vintage. The most significant change is the new fork head, with two separate headlights and a new bubble. Could the little Daytona 600 be influencing its big sister? The rest of the fairing is identical. The side air intakes are still there, but now painted in the same tone as the fairing. Following on from the Centenary version, the Daytona had recovered its single-arm design, which had been shelved for a while when it was redesigned in 2002. It's good to see that this single-sided arm is back for the 2004 version. Still no inverted fork or radial brakes. Technological overkill doesn't seem to be what the British are aiming for. No matter. The machine is as pleasant to ride as ever, with the charm of its 3-cylinder engine running the show from start to finish. Sporty without excess, the Daytona gives up on pure hyper-sports to concentrate on the pleasure of driving a sports car on the road, and even on the racetrack, the Englishwoman defends her rights; although this area is now monopolized by radical sports cars, more efficient than the Daytona but not as pleasant and comfortable on the road. You don't buy a Daytona to tease the GSX-R 1000, but to enjoy the charm of its boiler and its more accommodating philosophy. The Daytona 675's playground is the track and performance.

I was lucky enough to acquire a 2006 Triumph Daytona 955i in 2022, and even after nearly 20 years, I'm pleasantly surprised to see how little this bike has aged, both in terms of looks and performance. Despite being a sports bike of the 2000s, it retains a timeless charm that sets it apart from more modern motorcycles. In fact, its less radical character compared to current models makes it rather comfortable. The Daytona 955i's engine is truly remarkable. It offers instant response right from low revs, making city driving and low-speed maneuvers easier. However, when more power is required, it responds with enthusiasm and delivers solid performance. The sound of the three-cylinder engine is simply magical, and one of the features that won me over right from the start. In terms of aesthetics, this bike retains a classic charm. Although it's not as futuristic as some contemporary sports bikes, its timeless lines give it a unique elegance. However, it's important to note that, as a 2006 model, the Daytona 955i may have some limitations in terms of technology compared with more recent motorcycles. Safety and rider assistance systems are not as advanced, which means the rider needs to be more attentive to riding conditions. In summary, the 2006 Triumph Daytona 955i is a motorcycle that has aged well and continues to offer a pleasurable riding experience. Its blend of comfort and performance, combined with a bewitching-sounding engine, sets it apart from the rest. If you're looking for a sportbike with retro charm and a fun ride, the Daytona 955i is certainly worth considering. It proves that some things just get better with time. Rating : 5/5

A motorcycle that has been part of my daily life for the past 4 years and has given me nothing but satisfaction. We've covered some 50,000 km. It's unadorned, uncluttered and tasteful. Its roadholding is beyond reproach. The mechanics warn, it doesn't leave you on the side of the road because of an electronic circuit that asks you for a reset when you don't have the suitcase... In short, if one day it leaves me, I'll have a hard time replacing it.
V to you all!

Hello
But I'll never change one, because the torque of a twin is almost the same as that of a four, so where else can you find it if not on a triumph.........

Personally, I think this bike has a charm all of its own, and that it's truly different from all the rest, because even if it's true that the Dayto can't compete (on the track) with the Japanese 1000s, it still retains a unique character that makes you feel at ease right away
Incidentally, for the jap pros, I'd like to point out that a colleague limped off at 180km/h in a bend with his R6 (front stall), whereas I stayed on it with my Dayto at 10km/h more, proof of this bike's good roadholding!
In any case, on the road, it's simply thrilling!

n'aime bien cte chtite 3 pattes !
Too bad about the 100 hp limit
maybe the 2005 model has been revised
I'm still hesitating with my metre 95
It's not easy to find a bike that pleases and charges when you're a giraffe!
But now I think I'll make an effort
OK with Benoît; besides, my Bandit 12 will soon give way..
What a motorcycle!
Performance, versatility; and what a design job at Hincley's; it's much better!
One day you'll be mine, oh yes..
A little high exhaust line to free up the magnificent single-arm, just to add to its unique charm
GNEUH LA VEU !!!!!!!!!

A sporty, rare and versatile beauty, with a unique face and an engine sound... mmmmmmh. In short, it's your bread and butter, your smile and your creamer's breast. Yes, yes, your creamer can ride it once the seat cover is removed. And for those who want to stand out even more from the crowd, what about its livery with the British flag on the cockpit? With all due respect to Japanese bikes, this isn't a Bandit, a Fazer or a Hornet, you wouldn't come across one on every street corner or on every national highway... in short, a bike that connoisseurs and non connoisseurs alike can turn their heads to, without the need for chrome, saddlebags with bangs and a "special-hemorrhoids" saddle (isn't that Papy-Harley?!). I tried it out a week ago and promised myself I wouldn't leave these comments empty: now, dear Motoplanete, it's done, and with a smile on my face too... What about the purchase? Next spring, no doubt ;°) Rating : 5/5
