presentation of the 675 Daytona 2008

in the Supersport category, there are 4-cylinder 600 cm3 models and 750 cm3 twins. With Triumph comes the 3rd category: the 3-cylinder 675 cm3. At last, something new in this segment, which had been evolving with only 2 architectures, and which only Kawasaki had shaken up a little with the 636. The idea was an excellent one: to offer a 600 sport bike with a little more displacement and torque. The Daytona 675 goes much further.

triumph is THE three-legged specialist, and offers this type of engine in all cubic capacities and categories. By adopting 3 bowls in a small-displacement block, Triumph has created a sportbike that combines multiple assets: firstly, the charm of this type of mill, then its flexibility, far superior to that of a twin, and the surges in revs that tickle that of a 4-cylinder, all in a very narrow block. With 225 cm3 of unit displacement, the Britton boiler should offer far more feel and power in the low and mid-range than similar 4-cylinders. At 125 hp, it's on a par with the best Japanese 600 sports bikes, but its availability should be far superior. There's no need to wait for 10,000 rpm before it reacts.

this mechanical originality (which should be intoxicating) is served by a very modern chassis and dress, perfectly in tune... with the Japanese sauce. A pot under the seat, a fork head pierced by a ZX-6R-style forced-air intake, a reinforced swingarm copied from the R6, and a little too much sunrise in the design.
But this is no British Made In Japan. The Daytona 675's chassis features Hinckley components. A beautiful inverted fork with radial brake calipers (it seems to be the one used on the Speed Triple 1050) and a perimeter tubular frame. We can't wait to find out more.

Triumph 675 Daytona 2008 - 1Triumph 675 Daytona 2008 - 1

at first glance, this bike is very exclusive in terms of the posTRIUMPH DAYTONA 675ition it "inflicts" on its rider. The rear end is particularly high, so the body is tilted towards the front of the machine.
Ideal for time trials, this position has the opposite effect of destroying your wrists in town (the handlebars are very low) and doesn't make low-speed manoeuvring any easier.

Exclusive, too, in terms of the quality of the materials used - wow, this little Daytona is a real eye-catcher, as passers-by will tell you.

Contact: the first thing that jumps out at you, or rather your ears, is the sound emitted by the blunderbuss! If you've ever been in the presence of an '80s Porsche with a nice pot, well, it's the same noise.

Once underway, the bike is easy to ride, and almost seems to bend to your every move. Served by a very good gearbox (except for theTRIUMPH DAYTONA 675 dead point, which is hard to find), you can wind up and do everything in 3rd gear in town, thanks to this fabulous engine

And yes, it's time to talk about your guts, and this is one heavyweight. Forget all your 600 cm3 benchmarks, this engine is full of thrills and spills!

It picks up from the low revs with unprecedented vigor, pushing on to 12,000 rpm without stopping, and it won't hesitate to go for the remaining 2,000 rpm before the red zone without faltering. This bike will have you on the edge of your seat in no time, but above all, it'll give you sensations you've never experienced before (for its cubic capacity)
This engine really gives the impression of being fat and generous....

As soon as the pace picks up, the position takes on its full meaning: a series of fast or tight curves, the little Daytona swallows everything, and always with a feeling of ease. The suspension tuning is excellent, smoothing out the imperfections of the secondary road network and keeping the bike firmly planted on the road. Fortunately for your loins, it's not the pebble-padded seat that could have provided the slightest notion of comfort. The chassis is unobjectionable, whether you're cornering or popping the throttle, the feeling with the front end is excellent: you look and the bike follows

TRIUMPH DAYTONA 675When it comes to pulling on the brakes, it's the same hyper-effective front braking is very well backed up by rear braking, which is easy to dose (very useful for correcting rear brake trajectories). You still need to pull hard on the lever to get a big bite, always this notion of never brutal ease.

Clearly, before buying a 600 sport made in Japan, go and try this European bike, because to try it is to adopt it, and it will open the doors to an unknown realm... Then, like me, you'll be driving round and round on the Paris ring road, listening to that magnificent soundtrack in the tunnels

French Wolverine31 Model 2006
Superb bike, everything is said in the comments of the test. Except perhaps for my wrists, because after a Duke 690, my wrists don't hurt as much with the Daytona. In fact, it's a bit like finding the neutral point, you have to give it a little throttle before looking for it. Fuel consumption on the track and on the road in attack mode is 7.4l! For track riders, there's a stopwatch and a record of the maximum speed achieved, ...
In short, 50 years of riding and it's the best bike I've ever ridden. This front end allows phenomenal corner entry
Certainly my last bike.

I tried it out and signed the order...Can't wait for delivery...Torquey engine for a 600 and doesn't balk at revs...The rpm LEDs are a terrible plus on the track...The chassis is precise and easy...On the other hand, comfort is stiff, which is normal for a sports bike not made for the city but for the track...I got it in black with gold rims, a marvel... Superb line... I saturated my computer with photos... I dreamed of trying it out after seeing the comments from pro and private testers... it's done. Disappointed... the balls... certainly super super mill, but impossible to ride on a daily basis in town, too much on the front, attack from the start, saddle horribly hard for the inner thighs. (the same day I tested, just like that, to see, without really believing in it, cbr 600 rr 2007,... not seen so enjoyable for a long time. sorry if I hurt the feelings of the unconditional fans of English bikes of which I was a part, I turn yellow!!!) i love it!!! i have an svs650 and i'm selling it for this one... well, i'll try to work it out with the dealer... it works like a charm, as i proved on the track before the owner folded it!!! hoping one day to see its big twin sister in 1000!!! daytona....because i'm worth it!!! Rating : 5/5
French Koko Model 2006
I've just tried it out and I'm still hesitating to swap it (at an extra cost, of course) for my '98 ZX-6R

The position is tip-top for attacking, and the tank fits perfectly between the thighs. Made for attacking..

It's taller and much slimmer than my ZXR, but you can get used to it

Comfort, on the other hand, needs some work. Wrists of course, but you're also sitting on a rock (very hard saddle and suspension), and the gearbox is also hard (not easy to get into neutral...)

Otherwise, it picks up quite a bit and revs up nicely. But I was expecting even more oomph.

And the sound...........

hi, it's been 3 months since I bought it, all the newspapers have talked about it as "the" hypersport bike of the year. In short, it's true that the position hurts the wrist, but you soon get used to it, but when you're riding a duo, it can hurt a lot. As for the engine, there's plenty of torque and length, but beware: it's not a fighter jet, and the proof is in the pudding: my cousin put a pill in the revs with his 2000 GSXR homologated. So before you buy, don't rely too much on magazines, because Japanese bikes are serious business
A+

i bought it it's a real ball before i had the 955i from 2002 good machine but nothing to see light precise easy to handle we have torque at 4000 and it pushes up to 14000 even in 6th gear we can go down to 2000 rpm and it starts again without flinching really exctionnel bike Rating : 5/5
French Nien-Nien Model 2006
The engine is available at any rpm. The riding position is really race-like, it really is a supersport. The noise is completely atypical, it really is an extraordinary motorcycle. I hope Triumph continues in this vein. Rating : 5/5
Brilliant! If only the big one could follow in her footsteps... Rating : 5/5

I've just parted with my R6 Yellow (Superb), unhappy as I was, when I saw this 675 my heart went round in one go! And a European one at that! Tomorrow I'm going to try it out, yahoooo!!!! I have a feeling I'm going to crack...and too bad for the wrists! Info for Griff, there's a Triumph dealer in Eupen. Rating : 5/5

i think I've found the machine that's going to make me happy, I'm into skydiving and benji (occasionally) but this summer I'll only be moving around with this jewel, it'll be pure pleasure before and after the jumps, sorry about the budget, but I've got a crush on it...only one little problem, I'm going to have to look for a dealer in Liege (Belgium), it's not going to be easy. In my opinion, Triumph has hit the nail on the head

Bringing to the 600 sports segment a new machine, which I think will be a hit with all the Japanese girls. It's with great impatience that I await the release of this machine.

SSSSPLENDIDE!!! I saw it for real at the world show and it's superb! a very small, very compact size, it's a real sports machine. i think it'll offer pleasure to its lucky owner, but his wrists will suffer if he hopes to ride it for kilometers, and the seat is more rubber than bultex mattress! But we won't stop there when we see the whole package... I wouldn't hesitate for a second! Rating : 5/5
