After the Great Escape, the Bonneville will draw inspiration from another universe: that of Ewan McGregor. The Scottish actor is known for his significant portrayal of Obi-Wan Kenobi (as a young man) in the Star Wars trilogy, his unforgettable performance in Trainspotting and a host of other films, both large and small. And always with a talent to match.

McGregor is also a seasoned motorcyclist. He owns a dozen models, with a penchant for Moto-Guzzi. He's taken part in major road-trips on his Harley LiveWire(the Long Way Up - 20,000 km from Ushuaia to Los Angeles), BMW R 1150 GS Adventure (the Long Way Round - 30,000 km from London to New York on the east side) and 1200 GS Adventure (the Long Way Down - 18 countries from Scotland to South Africa). Quite a customer for mileage.

But it 's on Triumph's side that his image will be promoted. And for a nice gesture. The 865 Bonneville is available in a unique model signed by McGregor, in aid ofUNICEF. This branch of the UN is dedicated to improving the lives of children around the world.

There will be just one model. A single Bonnie with McGregor's autograph on the tank. Beforehand, the tank was given a coppery treatment to sparkle like a nugget in the dark. The middle of the front mudguard and its support rods receive the same finish. The rest of the bike is split between black and chrome.

Like the actor's long-distance BM adventures, this creation is intended to raise funds for the United Nations Children's Fund. It will be sold at auction, hopefully for a sum far exceeding the value of this Bonneville.
Can we put a value on it?
For those disappointed at not being able to obtain it, Triumph is offering a Belstaff limited edition in parallel this year. And who knows.... Maybe one day we'll have McGregor series or colors alongside Steve McQueen.
