presentation of the YZF-R1 1000 20th Anniversary Swiss Edition 2018
The R1 is Yamaha's preferred medium for many tributes. It has been produced in special series for Yamaha's 50th and 60th anniversaries, as a MotoGP replica, a YART replica, a GMT 94 replica, a Petronas replica... and so many other editions around the world that it's hard to keep track.
Among them, there's a specific edition for Switzerland. In 2018, the Swiss importer decided to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the YZF-R1. It's quickly recognizable by its tribute color scheme, a copy-paste of the first vintage. The dominance of white over red (or vice versa), the calligraphy used, the coloured saddle and matching wheel-lip - everything has been transposed to the most mimetic degree.
To "snore" a little more and raise the quality level, the R1 gains an Akrapovic exhaust system. It also enables every owner to take part in a Yamaha Riding Academy session at Slovakiaring.
This Yamaha R1 20th Anniversary Swiss Edition was produced in a limited edition of 20 units, like the number of years celebrated.
