presentation of the Ninja 1000 ZX-10RR 40th Anniversary Performance Edition 2024
With all Kawasaki's special series this year, it's impossible to miss the 40th anniversary of the Ninja family. 1000 SX, ZX-6R, ZX-10R, ZX-4RR, Ninja 650... There are plenty of them to celebrate the event. In other places, there are also Ninja 500s and ZX-14Rs honouring the occasion.
And then there's England. A place where editions like no other are born - remember the Honda CBR Limited Edition TT with its 'pint of Guinness' decoration? Well, Kawasaki UK has decided to release another limited edition ZX10-RR, still associated with the 40th anniversary of the Ninja... the GPZ 900 R Ninja.
The first step was to call on Kardesign, a concept design company based in Peterborough. Kar Lee drew on the brand's history to come up with around twenty ideas. The pre-final shortlisted six, which were then published on the Kawa Facebook page. The votes determined three variants - so this special series of 10RRs will be available in three different versions... and yet very similar. As luck would have it, the decals in question are almost exact copies of the 1994 collection of a motorbike that was formidable at the time: the ZXR 750.
Fans will be able to choose between the purple 'Ebony / Metallic Eventide', the green-white-red 'Lime Green / Pearly Alpine White / Sunbeam Red' reminiscent of endurance machines, and a very Stinger 'Lime Green / Pearly Alpine White / Blue 36'. Symbolically, only 40 examples will be made. Each one will receive a numbered commemorative plaque. Buyers will be able to choose the livery they prefer.
The ZX-10RR's special colour isn't its only treat. As a 'Performance' model, it is equipped with an Akrapovic carbon and titanium silencer, a smoked bubble, a matching seat cover and a fuel tank protector. A number of items have been added to enhance the equipment, including a 40th anniversary key ring, a protective cover and a stand stand. Where the UK subsidiary really comes into its own is that this special version costs the same as the ZX-10RR Performance - a nice gesture..

So, this ZX-10RR 40th Anniversary UK is asking a ticket price of £26,599. Strong stuff! With that, you get Kawasaki's best-performing track bike. A 204-horsepower hypersport, with Pankl titanium connecting rods for even more revs, special camshafts, Marchesini forged wheels, a variable air intake system (to be unlocked with the optional racing kit), Showa BFF and BFRC Lite suspensions that can be adjusted from anywhere, Brembo M50 brakes and an extensive electronics package (4 riding modes, traction control, engine braking, wheelie control, glide control and standing start control, shifter, cornering ABS, lane departure warning, cruise control, smartphone connectivity).
